As said in the other thread but to expand. No need for stealth as the carb isn't common. The engine you have is a b21 and the later ones are b23 or b230. So more capacity. They were in 240s till 93 and 740 and 940 volvos too with a 4 speed automatic that bolts in.

Fitting an efi manifold and buying the cas sensor from yoshifab is the easiest path to take for megasquirt if you want to stick with the 2.1 and non turbo. What is the power goal for it?

Wiring. .. Well if its carbied you're in luck as the rest of the loom shouldn't need any work unless you WANT to mess with it.

No need to fit vt brakes as the stock 240 brakes are better stock but if you get onto Ash at DVS (on this forum as well). He offer adapters for rx7 calipers which can mean you use a bigger 740 rotor. He also does better rate springs than off the shelf kings and can advise on shocks and bushes too.

@spac is one of the ones who has made good power from a na motor. But it was with a 2.3 and I think multiple throttles. Is that at the wheels? A stock b23 kjet car I've seen make 60 or so wkws with a Manual. Going to an aw71L is the best if you want to keep the auto but the stock manual box should handle that much power too.
The standard Volvo 4 spot brakes are capable of better braking than the typical VT sliding calipers.
If you're looking for a good improvement over stock, you can achieve these with some good pads and rotors.

If you're looking for even better, then the Series IV RX7 conversion is excellent. The calipers are lighter and easier to bleed too.

That's what I hoped I'd communicated Yes. But the one with a lockup converter from the 940 volvo is the one I'd go for as they are the aw71L and will handle all the power you need and you can go to a shorter diff ratio and still do 2500rpm at 100.
That page is sort of accurate but doesn't mention differences like lockup boxes...

Wow so life got in the way, and ive been busy on a massive restomod of an RA28 celica. But, i have contacted the owner of the car pictured earlier in my thread, its a bit worse for wear but the price is right. Once ive got a space for it, its a trip a few hours away to pick it up. My intentions have changed - im feeling a cammed barra, coilovers, and a change of colour. Ive also fallen in love with patrik lindgrens 242 build with the later model rear end - so im going to explore that. Hope to be on here more soon. Im currently welding up celica mounts on 240 diff for the RA28 im working on ;)

Julian @Ghettobird did have a B6304 ready to drop straight into a 240. Plenty of grunt with less stuffing around.

    I will take a look into it, im not familiar with volvo engines, i liked the sleeper nature and the affordability, which is what brought me to a barra - get a whole car for 1000 bucks and have most of the puzzle pieces that way ;)

      960 straight 6, 3 litre >200hp with lots of potential. MUCH lighter than a barra and would probably work out at similar cost at the end of the day. I think his still has the 4-speed auto attached too. It already fits in the tunnel too, with less stuffing around. With only ~1300kg in a standard 240 it doesn't take much to get them up to sleeper stage.

      Theres a lot to be said about keeping it Swedish, The Volvo 2.8L T6 can put out a lot of power with few parts and a moderate amount of work, a set of ebay H beam rods, a HX40 and your usual go-fast bolt-ons and you can easily make well over 350 killowatts at the rears.

          Hi Guys,

          Was a big day to pick it up (about 3 hours each way) - then Took 3 hours to get it off the trailer (when i asked if it had any tyres i should have asked if any of them held air hahaha) - discovered a species of spider previously unknown to me.

          The vision has changed from when i first started this thread many years ago, but ive now got a clear picture of what i want to create.

          I do some backyard rust repairs and repainting, so those jobs will help me fund this.

          One of the modifications i would like to do is update the rear end. - Would a Bootlid from a later model like this one fit? I can see the shape of the rear quarters is a bit different (as are the lights) - but is the opening the same?
