That’s interesting about the external temp sensor - mine have been wrong on 2 V70’s even after replacing the sensors… Have been fine on my 850’s & C70 though 
Time for you to put some extra kms on the machine - enjoy all of your hard work!! 
Remembering that wiring sheath and loom covers on P80 generation C70/S70/V70 are pretty terrible and crumble easily, the loom-side connector on the ambient temp sensor wasnt particularly nice - I took the wires and pins out of the connector, cleaned the pins with contact cleaner and cleaned the connector thoroughly as well before putting it back together with the new sensor.
No really sure if the issue was genuinely the sensor or just bad connection, but it behaved itself on the drive this afternoon which is a good start.
Not a heap to update here with a few days before a trip to Canberra - I've been driving it a bit more, its a got a couple of new stone chips, etc
I had a wheel alignment done on the weekend and, aside from the tow being a little out and having the steering wheel angle corrected, my rather basic wheel alignment was pretty good and (other than the steering wheel), its not too much different.
So, in short, other than preparing a little tool roll for travelling in it and buying a can of 'fix-a-flat' (I dont have a large enough spare wheel to clear the brakes), its been a fairly boring preparation exercise.
Same boat Ash with no spare wheel big enough to go over the brakes , does play on my mind when driving..

The 15" spare wheel is still in the boot. lol. I might remove it and be done with it.
rado I ditched the spare wheel today and strapped my tool roll and the fix-a-flat into the spare wheel well.
At some point I'll grab a full size spare but I'd like to see if I can get a factory 'Comet' wheel to clear the brakes - if I can, I'd like to go back to a set of Comets (17") and away from the 18" wheels I'm running.
In the meantime, the tyre jizz will hopefully get me through.

Did about 1600kms or so for the OzVolvo National Rally in Canberra and it was pretty flawless - I have a couple of minor observations that I'll take a look at in the coming months -
- I'd like a little more rear spring rate - may swap in a GAZ adjustable perch setup in the rear and a pair of GAZ twin
adjustable shocks
- I'd like a bigger rear swaybar - might have to put some more effort/focus into that again.
- 225 40 18 might a little tall for the tyre - might swap out to 225 35 18 or see if I can get a 17" wheel over the brakes
- Needs AC to be regassed - I knew this beforehand but just didnt get it done.
- I need to put some thought into what Im going to do for front seats - retrim these or put something else in it. dunno.
I'm being picky though and it was very good.
Also, part of me was inspired by all the good 240 builds there, so I'm in two minds as to whether I sell it and build another 240. I defintely had 240-envy.

For sure. I've got a couple that emerged during the Canberra trip - I'll chase those out and get them sorted. My guess is swaybar D bushes upfront.

Maybe I just need to sit on it for a couple of months and have a think. 
The V70 gets to do a bit of daily duty this week while my Octavia RS goes off to get a couple of parking dents removed that've been annoying me for far too long.
However, it had other plans and decided to slowly leak coolant onto the floor in the shed. So, over the weekend, did a quick pressure test to find a tiny pin-hole in the top radiator hose. No biggie, but I couldnt get one quickly. So, off to the parts car that sits out in a paddock near home.
Radiator hose acquired, two new clamps (just because I felt like spending up big!) and we're back in business again.
