Yep done the cabin filter a few years back , while I had the scuttle panel off yesterday I did take it out as it goes and gave it a good blow through , ( probably need a new on ) it seems OK.

Sooo bit of an update , seems the front suspension needs a good going over so I just went straight to fcp and ordered a kit ...

I've taken those bloody camber bolts out as the front tyres are shot , booked in for 4 new tyres on Saturday and going for Pirelli this time hmmm

So with this in mind got me thinking about taking the Arrgh off the road again until it's sorted and ... oops I did it again 🤪 just happened to come across a car on fb today 8 minutes away

Bit dirty but good enough to use as a daily , nice original condition with an uprated rear swaybar. Happy days.

Oh please tell me more about the subframe inserts, easy to fit and what changes did you notice? 😊

I've just been flicking through this thread to see when I changed the front and rear suspension, roughly 4 years ago , I think I done the inserts then . Yeah there was some difference not very noticeable from memory.
I have been looking at drelin ( think it's spelt that way) mounts over the weekend maybe that'll be next

rado What you've got here is a urethane bush to replace the original, however, the mount you have is the updated version (larger bracket and less 'air gaps' in the rubber bush).

Urethane at the firewall is terrible and you'll have an increase in NVH and vibration through the steering wheel (if you were able to use it).

The updated style mount will also have a longer service life than the original (even with a urethane bush fitted). The engine top mount is good to have in urethane as it is soft enough and the brace/arm flexes enough to have some compliance and good service life.
Delrin isnt a great material here (but fine a motorsports application) as it is too hard and transmits vibration into the cabin. If you're curious, I'll send you one, fit it, hate it and send it back.

No worries.
I'm a 'hard no' on subframe inserts too - though I reckon they're a reasonable 'stop gap'; ie. 'they're getting tired and I should get around to replacing them but havent got time to push the old ones out and press new ones in.'
Delrin in subframe bushes is quite good though and with all new engine mounts, theres enough compliance in the engine mounts that you dont experience an adverse effect in having them.

Two days into the c30 and loving it as it goes , gave it a quick wash yesterday and lathered the leather up . Needs a damn good clean.

Bad points , no hand brake , no aircon and the lining has gone from the sunroof , that's it !
250ks on the clock , full service history not too shabby for 2.5k . Maybe worthy of a thread of its own he he..
Oh can't wait to drive it with sneakers on over the weekend as only driven it in toe caps so far 🙃

rado sometimes the rear pistons aren't wound back properly when rear brake pads are replaced (integrated h/brake in caliper) usually winding them back properly will reset the mechanism. Manual c30s are a ripper but I'm biased!

A/C is usually clutch but there are other common issues eg:pressure switch and condenser

Can confirm they're weird to drive in steel caps.

Ahhh , nice one mate as previous owner said he changed the rear brakes , makes sense 👍 . Actually sounds like the tt set up as when I changed the rear pads n rotors had to do that , hmmm

Clutch ....that's actually what the previous owner said mate . Yeah with toe caps there's nowhere for me left foot

So after nice new rubber a couple of weeks ago I drove it straight home around 2ks and it's sat there waiting for today.

On with the suspension again

Bump stops were non-existent and some wear here and there , all good . Also topped up the grease nipples on the anti swaybar

While I was underneath there was a dripping of coolant , actually happy to see this as the car has been loosing coolant from the expansion tank and I've changed the cap a couple of times now thinking it was that . So I think I'll strip it this afternoon noon , hopefully it looks like the clips need tightening.

Keep forgetting to update the progress of the water leak .
Since tightening up all hoses not had to put a drop in the bottle , happy days a win ☠️

All back together and a couple of test drives and it's all sweet again. Nice ride actually, probably an amalgamation of new suspension and fresh tyres .... yummy 😋
It can sit for another week now and get the wheels aligned
