Spac Does it need to be higher? We ran at standard height, and had zero issues with ground clearance. And our car certainly handled better than most - we kept wondering why people were driving so slowly, while they kept asking us why we were driving so fast...
pfeffernuss Basically want to battle harden the car as much as I can - for as cheap as possible. That's the premise. Definitely a bash plate. Rally tyres Flush all fluids (inc Trans, Diff) Bleed all systems. Spares (radiator, hoses, belts) Raising would be cosmetic/cool Are there any threads on transmission flush? I'll need a filter & gasket I guess! Thanks peeps

Would love to see some
Spac It's the maroon 83 one that was for sale in Geelong recently. I'll see if I can dig up any other photos.
martinp Nice car, pity its not a 360 GLT hatch as this is my little Volvo for the 2017 shitbox rally. You are building a tank!

pfeffernuss Whoo hooo!!! Got the replacement starter Motor installed today. Many thanks to @jamesinc Now I'm back to only making 12v from the altinator. I may have fried a regulator last week... I went and checked out commodore altinators today. $400 new! Can't to that as it'll blow the budget. Any more altinators floating out there?? Do 740 altinators work? Thanks all!
Angus242164 For raising the front, I reckon a good way would be to get a second pair of the reinforcing plates that sit between the strut top and the inside of the strut tower. Weld 3x short sections of RHS between the two plates, in such a way that they don't interfere with the holes in the plates. Also weld 3x M8 bolts pointing upwards through the holes in the upper plate, to attach the upper plate to the strut tower in the same manner as the strut top originally attached. Personally I wouldn't go nuts with the front end height, 30mm might be a good figure, if you go for too much you'll take the suspension geometry out of the ideal range and raise the centre of gravity as well, and handling will suffer a lot.
pfeffernuss How to get to that pesky top bolt when undertaking a starter motor replacement? Hole saw the firewall x 3!!
