I'll head to the next Canberra hang - this coming Thursday night.
Does anyone in Canberra have any OZVOLVO decals - keen to get branded.

Also, super big thanks to @egads - I now have a replacement altinator.

I can see my weekends coming up: on the spanners with the 240 and detailing cars
5 days later
A very successful day today!
Changed the altinator with the @egads (she/her) supplied unit. Now making >13.8v. Also installed a novelty horn.

Now need to turn my attention to starter motor. Appears the one o have sourced is 1/2 the size of my insitu starter. Next chapter...

I want to raise the car. Are there taller springs available? @AshDVS ??

You can use metal plate in small squares and long bolts with the bottom pigtail on the rear to raise that. Something similar can be done on the front too at the top although it is a little more involved
yes, anything really to get it to sit 2 inches higher.
the facebook guys are saying drop in Landcruiser Series 80 springs... I'm not so convinced, yet.
There are ebay spring packs (but $325 is a more than I spent on the car) :

the desired look
I like plates more than random spring changes as you still keep OK handling
50mm Plates, front and rear - sounds cheap and cheerful
Has anyone got some photos or drawings of that setup?
I'm trying to work out where these plates actually go...?
Why not contact the Ebay seller and check if they can sponsor the car in kind by way of Springs donation or cost price? - chuck some advertising on it and it is not like you are not going to be asked how you lifted it! good exposure!!!!
@85-260GLE always willing to do a cheeky plug - will give that a shot tonight
Do a search for the mad max 240 that was made in the usa on turbobricks
He did a lift for near $0 from memory and got some bigger tyres under the car

Also is running a hilarious bonnet exit exhaust setup
Making good progress on the fund raising front.!
Now raised >$800 which is 20% of the target.
Washed an S40 2.0T yesterday. Had loose strut towers or buggered ball joints. How do people no realise how unsafe not maintaining your car is...
5 days later
I've now raised >$1000!!
Car detailing has been going gangbusters.

Got 50mm lift blocks from a nice fella on Facebook.

Installed the altinator. I didn't torque up the lower bolt properly. I nearly lost the altinator on the Parkway. Hehehehe.
Anyway, tightened it up.

I'm making 13.8v but have the low voltage light active. Any morsels of wisdom people?
We can do standard height, increased rate for the fronts and standard wagon height and increased rate for the rears.
Sounds like you're all sorted though.

Drop me an email if you need anything.
Got 50mm lift blocks from a nice fella on Facebook....... Was that me?, cheers for the message the other night to say they arrived

Excellent community spirit!
It's really good to see everyone helping out. :)
@gavinh, you're that nice guy! Thanks mate!!
Fixed my altinator also - I clearly had done up everything finger tight.

Previously I lost the bottom bolt.
Today I found I lost the bolt that holds the +ve cable in place.

The car punished me for this, burning my hand a little on the exhaust manifold.

Next jobs:
Rear raiser blocks,
Build bash plate,
Raise front (dunno how yet)
Have been pondering how to do that. Can people tell me I am stupid for suggesting putting in plates at the top of the shocks to add height? Like wheel spacers
You would be limited with the length of the strut top Mount bolts for spacers, dunno about spacers between the coil springs and strut tops as an not to sure on the complete length of the shock at full travel?? Am some of the Swede's would have done somthing
You could go longer with pcd change type spacers but then get into more complex stuff to make them
