I have a set of V40 seats Nina and I are going to convert for the 240. On the surface they look pretty compatible - similar track widths, similar track-to-seat mounting.
If i ever won the lotto i would want the leather seats from a 91 940 turbo redone in black suade and put them into a 240

I picked up the seats today 150 for both the fronts they are in great condition except for the little arm rest thing is cracked , i thought they were black but are dark blue soo i was thinking after youtubing a few videos of how to change leather colour im just wondering if anybody knows any sites for getting black leather dye ? Ebay isnt really helping.
Why 91 940 mike? Surely the 850/s90 seat is nicer? It is for me.
Learn to love the dark blue , you will not notice after a while ....
Recolouring isn't good for longevity.
Plenty of stuff around , go to leather repair websites.
Duplicolour have paint for the non leather parts , IE the vinyl ,

So i ended up getting a leather dye kit from online and spent 2 arvos dyeing both alpha seats and spent friday arvo/night putting the seats in , had a bit of trouble one seat had these wierd star/allans key bit that nothing seemed to fit and the other was just welded pins so had to drill and tap them out apart from that it was pretty easy and straight forward. I think they look quite nice they feel amazing to drive in i did a 2 hour drive and my back felt great.
Looking good mate. How is that arm rest for ya? It looks to be really high.
No e!
Now another bucket of colour to rid the car of that beige disgustingness elsewhere!

Reviving this thread as it seams the most suitable place, after a bit of forum searching OzVolvo and Turbobricks.

I have found a few Alfa front seat options from a wrecker in Epping (on Gumtree).

I was looking for tan leather in particular, but he only has tan seats from a 2007 Alfa GT.

Does anyone know if the GT seats are also compatible in a 240? Or only the 156 seats? Thanks

If the GT is cheap enough, no more than $300 then worth trying.

If you have no mechanical and artistic skill and/or have nobody to help then don’t bother cos little adjustments are always needed.

I’m both the aforementioned things but can’t be bothered doing it haha.

If I recall the 159 seats bolt straight in if you look at the threads here you will know.

I don’t doubt your willingness to have a go and it takes more than that to make it happen.

Also , workshop places don’t want this work so don’t expect that help.

I’m trying to be helpful here.

Thanks for your help!

He wants 450 so didn’t really want to take the gamble and mess around for ages to end up having to get a mate to weld them onto the rails. I’m somewhat handy and enjoy maintaining the brick myself, but like most I don’t have much time and money to give. He’s got some black ones so if my back gets any worse I’ll just get those and make the aesthetic compromise ha.

You generally just need to weld an adapter bracket up that mounts whatever seat you want to a 240 seat rail.

If the 240 seat rail and the new seat have really offset mounting points, you can potentially make bolt-on brackets that don't require welding, but you won't know until you have the seat and the bracket together and can offer them up.

If they're a mechanical seat (i.e. no electric adjustments) and they don't have an integrated airbag, you can fit almost anything in a 240.

I found that to adapt Recaros to the 240 I needed welding skills, if you've got a mate who can weld up the frames (safely) then all good. I couldn't see how to get a bolt-in-without-brackets frame to work, but having said that the genuine Recaro adapters/runners I ended-up using are pretty simple.

A quick Google also comes up with this as the first result, dunno if anyone has tried these or has any comments:

Thanks for the tips guys!

Not sure my car goes fast enough to warrant racing seats ha. Just looking to improve daily comfort atm, so this is helpful information. I am lucky to have a mate who loves a welding challenge, and theres plenty of helpful info out there, so I’ll keep an out.

My Recaros aren't racing seats at all, they're just comfy road-car seats out of a JDM Hilux ... at the time they were cheaper at the local JDM wreckers than OEM seats that were any good from other wreckers or private-sales.
So if you can get other seats cheaply, your decision's likely different to mine ... mine were & still are in need of a retrim, but I always intended to re-trim whatever I installed regardless. 🙂

240_bh I changed my drivers seat for this old SAAS one, I used the stock rails, bolted some flat bar across them and then bolted the seats to the flat bar.

Volvo P80 (850 and S/V70) seats are kool if good nik , the side airbag is then an assett as its a mechanical release when the door hits the sensor on side of seat. , its a switch.

pieboyfresh what a coincidence, I have a pair of the same seats. I don't know why I didn't go that apparently simple way to mount them… I used SAAS rails and bent/welded/drilled bits of flat bar to make them work.
