Has any body on here changed the front seats to something else in thier 240 ? If so how hard was it? Im thinking of trying to get some old recaro seats so i have something that hugs a little more when you sit in the old girl?
240 seats alternative
850 ones.
They're easy to convert other seats into, mostly because the standard seats sit so high, which gives you plenty of room to move.
I've done Recaro, Supra, Velo without drama.

Lots of people seem to use Alfa 156 seats

Stangely enough i cant find any 850s scraping around me (Byron Bay) @Ex850R

Also someone modified the rear seats to fit as well in the uk
Well now thats pretty cool you dont have the link to it any chance @morgan
I've seen 850 seats in 240s, and the alfa seats, the rails lend themselves to easy adaption. I've put 850 seats in a 745 because they look stock.but are far more comfortable.
@240_bh This is John Hughes' Alfa seat conversion in his 245 Turbo. It is alot of work but looks amazing. I have Alfa 166 (electric) seats front and back and plan to do the same as he did as well as the door cards.

The alfa seats are leather and made by Momo. They aren't light but are pretty close to bolt in.

I put alfa seats in. I swaped the 240 rails onto the alfa seats. However i found the alfa seats pointed inwards when installed
and later had to weld a bracket to offset this.

Slightly off topic, but are there any options for a 245 rear bench?
Edit: I see that the TB guy converted the Alfa bench to fit his 245. Who wants to do something similar for me?

BMW rear seats , look on eboy , Peninsula Spares/BMW has lots , get measurements off BMW Internet's , I thought RED 3 series coupe would be good but even limo 7 series cut n shut by a trimmer would be amazing , electric stuff......X5? Ye get fold down then.
I have a set of V40 seats Nina and I are going to convert for the 240. On the surface they look pretty compatible - similar track widths, similar track-to-seat mounting.
If i ever won the lotto i would want the leather seats from a 91 940 turbo redone in black suade and put them into a 240

I picked up the seats today 150 for both the fronts they are in great condition except for the little arm rest thing is cracked , i thought they were black but are dark blue soo i was thinking after youtubing a few videos of how to change leather colour im just wondering if anybody knows any sites for getting black leather dye ? Ebay isnt really helping.
Why 91 940 mike? Surely the 850/s90 seat is nicer? It is for me.
Learn to love the dark blue , you will not notice after a while ....
Recolouring isn't good for longevity.
Plenty of stuff around , go to leather repair websites.
Duplicolour have paint for the non leather parts , IE the vinyl ,

So i ended up getting a leather dye kit from online and spent 2 arvos dyeing both alpha seats and spent friday arvo/night putting the seats in , had a bit of trouble one seat had these wierd star/allans key bit that nothing seemed to fit and the other was just welded pins so had to drill and tap them out apart from that it was pretty easy and straight forward. I think they look quite nice they feel amazing to drive in i did a 2 hour drive and my back felt great.
