Rob;11150 wroteNot solid enough info for a + or - yet but so far I am fairly disappointed with http://VolvoPartsWebstore.com

I ordered and paid for some parts on Wednesday 12th Feb at 7.30am CDT and after 4 or 5 emails I received an email stating it has been shipped on 20th Feb at 7.10am CDT.. that is 8 days just to dispatch it. I will reserve final judgement until it turns up but not overly impressed so far.
I have to alter my feedback a bit. I was unimpressed with how long it took them to ship the item, however the shipping was very fast and well priced, the parts were well packed, and exactly as I asked. The fact that shipping was so efficient meant that it was 14 days to my doorstep. It was also less than 50% of the price of the same part from Volvo in Australia, including postage. The package contained a letter explaining that severe weather events had caused freight delays and gave their apologies. I really can't ask for more than that...... +1.

Precision suck, very pricey indeed. They have no interest in working with any Volvo older than 10 years.

They do a lot of 7/9 aerokit parts and other generally awesome stuff.
Does anyone here speak Swedish though? I wouldn't mind getting some clear tail lights.

EDIT: there is an English button. I am an idiot *facepalm*
Not just that but you can email the head guy in English and all is fine. I spoke to him a few years back and sent an email in Swedish and he responded back in English.

Tigabu;7657 wroteSkandix has Lotso but never dealt with them
I used Skandix a couple of years ago to buy a Swedish made lowered suspension set and other parts, dealt with Kristian, she speaks english and was pleasant to deal with. Also the parts landed here promptly and all up cost saving over local production of about $100.
Between the UK, US and Europe, what locality generally ships the cheapest? I'm confused by the differences, for example in the US some parts are cheaper but more expensive to ship while other parts are more expensive and cheaper to ship? And they're coming from the same general area ie: West Coast :-(
UK is generally cheaper (British mail) you can also get surface/sea mail rates from the UK.
The other good thing about UK parts is they suit the LHD cars.

RHD perhaps??
This forum is at risk of becoming useful for things.

The only downside is that I can find only one UK supplier online & they have limited 1977 264 parts.

Done. And also added Smart Send too for those looking for a cheap natiowide shipping option. Used them a few hundred times now myself with minimal fuss so I recommend them.

Any other recommended shipping options, I'll throw up as well :)

Positives for both DVS, Berry motor group (Carson &Murphy now) and Voldat. Voldat and Berry work well together so if one doesn't have something, they get in touch with the other.

If you feel like adding another to the international list:
http://www.davebarton.com/

I have bought a few bits and bobs from there, horn button, relays, stickers all of fantastic quality, good communication and shipping
+1 for Dave Barton.. excellent

+1 for DVS, front strut brace for my C70 is excellent.
I had a couple of negative experiences with Swedish Wreckers in the past, as well as some good ones, it used to depend very much on which staff you got, which ultimately turned me off using them altogether. Haven't been there in recent years so can't comment on whether it's still like this.

Centre Road Wreckers in Springvale is a self-serve wreckers that usually has a decent number of Volvo's in stock.
i can't believe you guys haven't mentioned rockauto.com for general parts (non performance). They are EASILY the best supplier I've used in the US. Shipping rates aren't too terrible either.

just placed an order for

(4) KYB GR2 shocks
(2) rotors
(2) pads
shipped to my wife in the states.... after rebates $198. Shipped to OZ would've been $605.
supermattyp;16558 wrotei can't believe you guys haven't mentioned rockauto.com for general parts
supermattyp;16558 wroteShipped to OZ would've been $605.
That is probably why....
how is stuff from UK any less expensive? Also, there's a few bruces who go back and forth to the US pretty regularly. Also, the stuff I bought is quite heavy...not just general bits and bobs.
For sure. I do think we cop it fairly hard though.. shipping costs often seem to be prohibitively high even when the suppliers prices are really good. Finding a good price is generally trying to find a good shipping price.
Alrights, all updated.

As for Rock Auto, I thought I put them on there originally but maybe not :O And yes, shipping from there for small, low quantity things isn't worth it. Bulk..... Not so bad. FCP Euro used to be the same but in the last couple of months have slashed international shipping prices (which is awesome for us :D ).

UK is generally cheaper and a lot quicker than from the states. Why? I think it comes down to border fees charged by each country if I do recall.
Another +1 for Dave Barton

Penal Colony?
Note-Voldat is the business owned by John Johnson who has spares and repairs pre P80 Volvo's (but not limited to). He also has the oldest Volvo in Australia and many other nice cars and is the Safety Officer for VOC Victoria.
Mark Richardson (Volvo Europe trained)works there and runs VP Tuning from there. He sells TME tunes and parts,do888 stuff,IPD stuff and is generally the P80 onwards guy.
It is worth visiting for the range of cars to see and the mini museum they have, they also hold club meets and car check days. Call em if you need advice or parts help,a great wealth of knowledge resides there and both great guys.

MINUS 1 for Tasca (tascaparts.com - tasca_tpc on eBay)

(First posted on TB)

I thought I'd share my story of a very bad experience with them.

An eBay ad by tasca_tpc claimed to have four B234 oil pump pulleys available; I ordered two - one to go on the car straight away, and one spare.

After a few days, I contacted tasca_tpc to ask when he intended to ship the items. tasca_tpc responded by stating that the items were no longer available, and that he had written to me to advise me of this on the day of the order (untrue) and that he had issued me a full refund (also untrue).

Before replying to tasca_tpc, I took a screenshot of their listing, which clearly showed "2 items sold, 2 still available".

Why would they keep listing items for sale that they don't have in stock?

It seems to me as though they were quite happy to leave up fraudulent listings and rip off people's money. After all, they'd already lied about issuing a refund.

I only got my refund after filing a dispute with PayPal, but my vehicle is going to be off road for at least another week while I get a pulley from a reliable source, thanks to this rip-off merchant and his stupid time-wasting games.

Already posted on Turbobricks, but I'm not a member of Volvospeed or Swedespeed. (Seems like that should change...)

But anyway - another PLUS 1 for Scandix.de - shipped when promised, easy to deal with, no hassles at all.
I have one experience with Tasca which was I guess positive. It was getting an OEM M46 speedo cable. It took a month to be shipped, but I believe that is because they were waiting on Volvo to produce the cable (made especially for me it would seem!)
im a dealer tech, can get OE stuff at trade cost

email in sig, thats my work PC, best place to email so i remember to look shit up :P

Just to add, if you are in the sydney area and dont mind a trip to blacktown

Tentacle Industries keeps over $10K in new parts in stock as well as pretty much anything ever for second hand parts

Main attractions include 15g/16t/19t turbos + associated bits as well as gaskets and all general tune up items

Nearly everything is OEM or origionl volvo, I do carry some offbrand parts for when brand does not matter on the part.

Spare engines and transmissions also available in single or bulk quantities and we are happy to recieve your used oil.

Yep, that's the one. If you're a member on Volvo Owners Club UK forum all the contact details for Rufe are on there; he does now deal primarily with phone enquiries though which is the only problem.
You don't need to be a member of Voc to order through rufe (Simon is his name) you allccan log onto Vpcuk.Org and search for rufe under the trader section which will also give you a discount code :)

Partsforvolvos (Jamie) is also a good bloke to deal with very happy to see the positive feedback for him meet him a good few times

Ard tuning...well that's another story I won't go into details but suffice to say search the English forums and make up your own minds

Just to add if any of you can't get stuff shipped to you can always get it sent.to me and I'll forward :)
..
+ 1 for DVS Performance Parts - @AshDVS obtained the (almost) unobtainable for the right price and shipped without hassles.
Another +1 for Volvo Parts Webstore USA

+1 for myvolvosource.com/ (on eBay as taillightguy) USA - P1800 / Amazon / PV544 parts

Other places for goodies (although I haven't purchased from them as yet)

MDS http://www.motordesign.se SWE - some very exciting stuff there, including their own 'EVO' Redblock heads, R blocks, and rods. (While dreaming is cheap, these parts are not - but one can expect rapid car movement with them to last longer than rapid eye movement about them).

KL Racing SWE - wide range of performance parts for 120s to present (note: website in Swedish)

Kimmitt Sport Racing NOR - performance parts for B230 and B234, including an improved B234 plenum (note: website in Norwegian and English; prices in Norwegian krone)

Yoshifab USA - lots of handy prefabricated alloy and Volvo performance bits, including those engine mount adapters to make a B20 to B230 engine swap easier.

Building Xoe (the 142) promises to be interesting.
