Replacing the heaterbox with a smaller efan gives you a bunch of free space and a better fan and would solve the problem. Saw it googling around somewhere but can't refind it right now. Probably on volvo300mania.

Looks great. See, I told you it was snug! - Hence the 3 million questions about years and heater setups before moving forward.

If you do go down the route of replacing the heater box, let me know, I can send up a bare bar without the flat section in it and you can transfer the rod ends, etc across.

Thanks ash, I think if I do pull the heater box out I will just leave that bar in untill I get the twin cam in, that way you will only have to send it once.
Got some more done today, fitted the brake lines from @AshDVS.

Fit perfect and look great!
Also fit an adjustable cam gear that I purchased along with a clutch and lightened flywheel from @leon.

Advanced the cam timing 3deg to begin with, will play with it a bit from there, more so when I get the megasquirt installed.
Clutch and flywheel will go in when I get a weekend to go out to my parents place and use the shed/gear to pull the engine out and will do the sump gasket and welsh plugs whilst it is out as the gasket is leaking. If I'm feeling really energetic the engine may get a lick of paint aswell.

This is a photo of my 360 when i had the turbo motor in it. i used the standard engine mount on the passenger side and i made the mount for the driver side using a 240 rh mount with 360 engine bracket and a fabricated mount to body bracket. i drove it like this towing my boat and had quite a few dyno runs and lots of fun in the dirt.
it lasted for the whole time it was on the road. about three years. the engine really didn't like running without the intercooler. on warm days it would ping under mild throttle.

Hey Dan, I'm building up a B230FT with an '89 manifold and TD04-13c. What do I have to do to fit the turbo? It looks like you've modified one of the engine mounts. Can you elaborate on the process a bit for me?

I got a poly mount kit from classic swede in the uk @jamesinc because I didn't like the hanging hydraulic ones.
Just have to source your own late model 740/940 alloy engine mount brackets.

Bit of an update. Fitted the front lip permanently, for those who don't know it is the original boot spoiler off the car, I have fitted the taller late model spoiler to the boot now.

My escort quick rack conversion also turned up, after 3 months of waiting for it to be shipped, haven't fitted it yet as it requires a little welding to fit.

Also fitted up the 240 headers to work out how much I needed to modify, ended up having to cut them back to where the 4 pipes turn into 2, will be rebuilding from there.

Ordered some fibreglass front quarters and rear over fenders, hopefully have them on their way in a couple of weeks.

That's all I have for this update, hopefully will be drive able soon.

Could the exhaust Mani been made to go forward rather than back in there or would that be more packaging issues? I suppose a major rehash as well...
What is the difference between the STD steer rack and an Escort one?

Escort rack is more readily available, plus this one is a quick rack, less turns lock to lock.
If I was to go forwards with the headers I would have to run under the cross member which would create ground clearance issues plus I would be completely redesigning the headers which I'm trying to avoid as much as possible.
Just needs a couple of bends to navigate around the steering components.

Been a long while since I have posted anything in this thread, so here are some pictures that people have taken of my car whilst out and about.

Update: Managed to pick myself up an AQ171 along with a bunch of useless boat parts, that will find its way in between the towers once I gather all the necessary components to install it.

I'm having some sort of fueling issue at present, once I get far enough away from home for it to be a pain in the ass it likes to stall on me, usually starts up fine and I can keep driving for a little while before playing up again. Needs more investigation.

Have been buying parts for the AQ171 lately as I realised that the #ozvolvonats are approaching at a rapid rate and I intend on taking this!

Just need a few more things and I can start putting the engine in.
