So the block and pistons are pretty well stuffed on my aq171. Pistons are badly scored and the ring lands are broken and the block would need a re-bore if I wanted to use it. The block also has a lot of rust through it, so I've decided to start with a better block and because the pistons are stuffed I'm going to upgrade those along with the rods. This is obviously going to cost a great deal more and take quite a bit longer. I have managed to secure a B230FB block locally, I'm hoping it has squirters! I just need to go and collect it now. Anyway, here are some photos. Shout out to my father who disassembled the AQ171 for me and gave it a hone only to realise the extent of the damage.

Picked up my B230FB on the weekend to replace the stuffed parts of the AQ171.
My over fenders also finally turned up after 1.5 years of waiting.
Taped them on to mark where to cut and see how they look.

Small update, got a non computer controlled ignition system from @Angus242164 so that I will be able to play around with the timing.

I also bought myself a varex muffler so that I can adjust the volume for highway driving as the combination of 3" pipe and previous muffler choice is just obnoxious on the highway.

Glad those ignition bits made it there OK. I think I see one of those mufflers in my 760T's future, where did you buy it, and what did it set you back, if you don't mind me asking?

I just got it from a local exhaust shop here in Brisbane, it was quite costly at $420, but worth it for me.

Varex are a great idea, though never knew they did a regular style pipe? Always thought it was cannon only. :D this makes me excited, single mid mount muffler here I come!!!!

I've decided to ditch the efi in favour of the penta twin carb setup, until such time as the new motor is ready to drop in, I'm trying to simplify everything at the moment.

Pulled the motor the other day to do the rear main seal and discovered the clutch requires attention, went onto the classic swede website to buy a replacement and ended up spending lots of money.

Are the 360 water pumps that much shorter than a regular 240/700/900 water pump?

Looking at it, I would think 1"shorter in the pulley height.

@bgpzfm142 there is a difference, not sure on the measurement but it is probably around 1" like jay has guessed, it certainly wouldn't be any more than that.

@Vee_Que clutch was actually pretty cheap as it is just a standard one, I will get a better one when the twin cam engine is ready to go in. Not sure the falcon plate would work anyway as the 360 has a smaller spline drive.

360 doesn't use the 26t spline like a m46?
