Hi All, just did a smoke test on my 740 turbo and have a fair amount of smoke coming out from the throttle body where the spring is (similar to picture below)
Can this be pulled apart and resealed or do I need a new one?

There is a seal located behind the spring in your photo. They fall apart due to age and heat like most other seals. Easy job to replace it. You will need to remove that nut and spindle, then the spring to access the seal. Take note of how the spring is oriented. The throttle switch needs to be removed from the opposite end too if I remember correctly. Obviously you will need to reset the position of the throttle switch upon reassembly.
This is the seal:

Flixtez These units can be dismantled and repaired.
You may find the seal in there has perished. The seal is the same part number and item as a engine valve husher.
Check out the 740 parts books in the Oz Volvo Tech Archive which has exploded diagrams of the throttle body.
@Flixtez PS - I've moved your post into [Workshop] [Troubleshooting] since I'm pretty sure you're not gonna want a 25+ year old used rubber seal.
Thanks that is great to know, I'll pick up one of the seals, and cheers for updating the post for me, happy to rebuild with a seal
Brilliant, yes your right on the husher and the throttle body seal. Learn something every day, thank you.
