My 2008 S80 V8 has a failing power steering pump. The failing part number is 30776395,
Part 36000748 is identical to 36000267. Most websites say that 30773695 is interchangeable…..but it’s not.
The pressure port interface is different size and the retaining bolt position is much closer on 30776395 to the pressure port on part 36000267 and 36000748 .
It simply won’t fit and I have had to return 36000267 or consider rebuilding my original 30776395 which I prefer NOT to do .

FCP have the original pump with with P/N 30776395 in the picture but name it 36000267?

The PS pump on our 2010 S80 V8 was changed by the local stealer a couple of years ago.

You will also need to change over the power steering pump fluid reservoir, as it has a built-in, non-removable filter within it. But the idiot local stealer didn't change ours, and so it was still noisy AF when the car came home after 7 days and after a 6-week wait to get a booking. We then took the car to professionals to sort it and it will never go to the stealers again.

This might save you a few bux if you want to DIY.

I looked up the part number you supplied - Skandix has no record of it, nor does Volvo Parts Webstore. In fact Skandix doesn't list any S80 V8 PS pump, which is very weird. And, yes; Volvo Parts Webstore also lists 36000267 as the V8 PS pump..... it is the successor of p/n 36002681.

Mine was flushed extensively then a Rockauto pump installed.
It needed a rack as well so $1700 Volvo one out in.
A fluid cooler also done with DERALE unit.
I put in a magnetic filter as well but think the guy that did it out in wrong side of pump or it's too restrictive.

Anth changed the title to S80 V8 Power Steering issues P/N 30776395 .

I just cant seem to get a pump that will fit on this car.

Part 36000267 and 36000748 is NOT interchangeable . It simply wont fit unless the pipework to the steering rack is replaced?
The only option is order new pump from Volvo-$1250 or rebuild existing
Rockauto wont fit either
From the link above it obviously an issue
Surely someone has an answer or solution

Go on ebay , find a site , they will ask for your VIN and say if it fits.
Or ask Mark at Berry Motor Group. ( he is back from UK , Volvo Museum trip thank goodness , normal help back at BMG...)

As an aside to steering problem, I had great success with carefully flushing fluid tank filter with brake cleaner.

Yeah , the flushing my guy did cleaned it out.
i had no trouble geting correct pump at all so this is weird.

Only one that will fit is NEW from Volvo at big price if in stock and available.

The online people like it seems ...
      Lucky you could send back.
Gee I did well with mine then!

1185 is cheap if you now have car off the road and labour costs....
Plus Volvo give 2 year warranty...
Mark gets the best Volvo supplied prices too.....
Just wait till fuel pump/s go.....
It's a modern Euro car, parts ain't cheap. Buy genuine and your more than 10 years old complicated car will last another 10 years or more.

        Disappointing.
What a stich up!! Aftermarket guys simply do not make this pump for this car?
So the only way is to buy new from volvo 30776395 at exhorbitant price or remove it and get it repaired/ refurbished.
I will try refurbishing it and see what happens

          Anth
          No good!
Mine is XC90V8, I'm surprised it is different.
Check the xc90v8 2006 code if same.

NO surprises here guaranteed. I can tell you 100% it is different!

If you have an S80 V8 with a 30776395 pump, the XC90V8 pump
Part 36000748 is which is identical to 36000267 WILL NOT FIT.
Volvo in there wisdom changed it for whatever reason???

The pressure port interface is a different size and the retaining bolt position
is much closer on the XC90V8 pump.

This has been a frustrating experience to say the least.
They FORCE you to spend the dough and buy new which is $1304 inc gst+ delivery
or try to refurbish it or find a second hand one.

Anyone got a second hand one? I am interested

I obtained pump for xc90v8 from rock auto for a lot less. Seems strange pump in sedan is different. The motorworld is a strange place.

              Yeah I know
              They are a MAVAL 96696M unit for $237 AUD + $68aud delivery.
Comes with a 2 year warranty like VOLVO . LOL

              Shame it wont fit .
Could have bought four of them for the same money . OMG

              Ex850R
              Yeah right!!
              Easier said than done
TBH I did look into it. Forget it , nightmare!

Can you swap out the hose for the one that suits this pump, or is that not a thing?
