2002 model . Starts stops , everything works , drove around 100ks today . I'll have a look at the front suspension over the weekend.

I had a look at an astra last week and a commodore station wagon week before both more money than this but extremely rough . So I'll class it as a win . It'll do me fine

Might even throw the volans on it ?

Nice!

I do hope the gearbox holds out, some last. As I said, you can get a repair kit from Level Ten Automatics in USA. Makes it a tough gearbox too.

Or swap an M66 in!

Love the comfort of an xc!

Gearbox feels smooth as . It's actually got a full service history apart from last 18 months , the guy I bought it from it was his first car . It's actually a WA car from new surprisingly .

Totally flush gearbox, cabin & air filters.

Any leaks underneath , front and back ?

I was going to have a play with it today Stewart but it's not stopped raining ?

Same , freezing here and rain , we went to sister inlaws sisters funeral up at Blackheath in the Blue Mountains , huge mistake.

Small 140yr old wooden church , no protocols.

8C , so far 6 of us have covid from it and wow is it knocking us around , that was tuesday week ago.

Don't under estimate the power of this thing, nearly had to put the wife in hospital .

All the best for a good recovery for you all. People are having mild versions and thinking it's like a cold/flu.....Some have less immunity and are struck down , hopefully no long Covid appears....

We went to Mount Macedon 50 minutes north of outer suburbs due to a incident on freeway to airport!

Mists descended fast, 3°C , a quick walk to the monument of a cross , some photos and my slight plegm/cold is worse now, I let the family go and went to car. Slow drive down, 13% slope roads.

Engineer I talked with Thursday has Covid, I've RAT and clear but my immune system is always low so having three shots has helped, fourth coming up.

Wishing you and yours a safe and healthy recovery.

Geez mate doesn't sound good at all . How you and wife doing now then ? We're still living like hermits over here , only going out when needed.

      Apologies hijacking Steve!

      I forgot where I was!

There is a guy at work ( mid 60s) his immune system is extremely low along with heart problems . He caught covid but luckily jabbed x3 but he was off for over 2 weeks . Has to go hospital every Friday for check ups .

As Les says stay safe everyone

I put the car in the shed last night ready for today and spent the last six hours cleaning it as it's lived on a farm for the last 18 months , damn it smelt ? . All nice and fresh and the leather came up a treat and the over mats etc . Just one brake light bulb changed . Also took the wheels off and checked the suspension mainly the front . All is well apart from top mounts seats and bump stops so hopefully order them later or tomorrow.

Also some crazy wiring going on

Anyway , subframe and engine bushes all look very good , happy about that . Needs 4 new tyres again I knew that was on the menu . 215 65 16 but I'll go for 215 60 16 as looking at prices it'll keep the cost down . Think it'll look silly with the volans on with a 40 profile.

Just waiting onthe autoglym to soak into the leather, looks like it hasn't been done in years....

We have to wait till 3 months after a PCR all clear before we can get a 4th jab , damn nuisance , great photos Les.

Hows that T6 going , I must be getting better , had a dream the other night of transferring xc60 T6 drive train , engine etc into an 850 race car.

Or should I blame the medication ??

I may have some small parts for xc70 here steve , wait till this rain stops and it warms up I'll have a look.

If the strut tops are that bad I would get some front shocks for it too! No point doing the job twice also what are those wire taps for?

            Thankyou!

            Yes, 3m wait after cv19 .

            I'll test again soon......

The V60T6 has become a smoke machine after slowing down gently say at an off ramp, either turbo rebuild or early incarnation of T6 being susceptible to rings or something I don't recall.....

New car maybe! Still goes so hard though,TDI Box on full power, addictive torque!

Do it, it's no bigger than the 5cyl!

            timbo

Yeah I see your point of saying change the shocks as well , I was looking earlier as it goes at some kind of cheap kits . Been trying to get the heater to blow hot the last hour . Every hose is hot except the return hose from the matrix. Damn matrix ?

Oh wires not a clue atm ..

            6 days later

OK front suspension , last weekend I was going to email our Legend Ash for suspension parts but I bloody ended up of ebay and just ordered cheap parts to get the car moving for now . This lot arrived Wednesday

The mrs bought me for birthday last month these

            Compared to this pos ?

No compensation , anyway . Out with the old

Shocking ? . I'll get four tyres next week . Just went for a drive and the steering wheel has straighted up and smooth as . Thats it for this , no thrills just a workhorse . Now finally time to get the 850 in the shed and strip it down ?

            2 months later

After a couple of months trouble free the last week I've noticed I'm loosing water coolant. I've checked all hoses and come to some kinda conclusion it's the reservoir cap . Luckily I have a brand new one for the 850 so I put that on and will see how it goes.

Some bad news, parked in a car park yesterday and came back to this

            ? yey !

            Onwards and upwards

Thats a nice war wound that no one left a note or owned up to. Some people are low lives.
