Ex850R damn haha, never took any photos, never really thought about it till the job was done, will take photos next time. Wish I could say I did the job perfect, the car has formed a power steering leak since I made the replacement I'm still yet to narrow down, and I've got the hoses that run from the steering rack to the power steering pump floating in space as I cant seem to find how they are supposed to be secured from factory. I've tightened the hoses so hopefully that fixes the leaking fluid, and ill probably just throw a bash plate on rather then worrying about the loose hanging power steering hoses. Also nearly had the car topple over as it was sitting on some sketchy jack points as well haha.
Another issue I faced was putting back on the steering spline, spend honestly half the job trying to get the nut that locks it in place through the groove in the spline, ended up using the threads of the screw to force it through. Wasn't ideal but it worked, couldn't find any way to get it to line up and go through better.

Now , go outside and take some pix , please.

UPDATE:
Ive discovered his car is a total lemon haha.
Then the engine swap was done in the past, the brake booster vaccume hose was cut in two spots, and rather then getting a new hose, they reconnected the old hose with slightly larger bits of hose. As you can imagine, it popped off and i lost brake booster whilst driving. I suspect similar has been done with the ac system, as it doesnt even remotely hold any vaccume.
Since getting it on the road, car has had a worsening grinding/vibration on the front right, and a faulty rebuilt steering rack, it leaks out of literally every place it can. (Will be speaking to berry motor group for a replacement).
Furthermore, its started to push oil out of the dipstick, would that be cause by the dipstick o-ring being loose?
Aside from that the cars been great, ive driven it 6000klms so far, and only been through multiple liters of powers steering fluid haha.
Note, i also stole a spoiler off our v70 t5 and put it on haha.
The oil out dipstick is usually the PCV system is blocked
Get a new kit and swap, easy job, take off inlet manifold and it’s all there, get the full kit with all hoses.
Berrys have them in stock and may have steering rack on shelf as well.
Remember to get inlet manifold gasket and new oil cap o ring (every few oil changes replace it) and dipstick o ring
You get the new dipstick tube, used ones possible
The steering rack is the same but you just cut off the back mount if it interferes with the AWD stuff. The FWD stupidly put the powertrain mount on the rack. The AWD without that steers and feels so much better
Also whilst im on a roll, anyone know any details on if the AWD handbreak shoes are any different? Hand brake no workie, both from stretched cable and shitty brake shoes. I know the handbreak cable is awd specific.
I assume the handbrake shares a similar setup to the 740? Never taken an 850 rear apart.
your brakes are different to rear on fwd , there may be two types of caliper i didnt figure that out bfore i dumped the project V70R
Was looking at the dual exhaust setup on the latest model of v70R, i think the 2000 v70R, such a bizarre setup, obviously looking at it im gonna take a guess and say the first exhaust outlet is louder then the other. My 850 AWD has the cutout for dual exhaust, so i was wondering if it was possible to get a similar setup exhaust to the one i circled off the shelf, did some looking, no luck yet. Otherwise i was thinking of taking it to a shop and just deleting it all together and only having the 1 muffler. Its wayyyy to quiet atm, which is nice, but also kinda boring, i do plenty of highway and travelling k's in the car as well, so i dont want something that drones either.
Deciding on exhausts is hard.
Hmm I don't know if all exhaust shops are like this, but the one I go to makes their own mufflers, so they have no trouble with unusual configurations like this.
Yep around $1300 for my mild steel 3" down pipe and complete exhaust for my R . Then I think I paid around $300 to have a race cat put in 6 months later . Was around 3 years ago though..

In your picture I was going to just tee the main line to the two smaller mufflers I was putting on my V70R .
Delete the centre muffler if present.
It’s free enough flowing till you upgrade other stuff anyway
Turbo out piping to cooler and TB should be bigger diameter them others do, it made my V70T epic with a MBC and big cheap cooler!
