your brakes are different to rear on fwd , there may be two types of caliper i didnt figure that out bfore i dumped the project V70R
850 AWD Rebuild thread/documentation
Was looking at the dual exhaust setup on the latest model of v70R, i think the 2000 v70R, such a bizarre setup, obviously looking at it im gonna take a guess and say the first exhaust outlet is louder then the other. My 850 AWD has the cutout for dual exhaust, so i was wondering if it was possible to get a similar setup exhaust to the one i circled off the shelf, did some looking, no luck yet. Otherwise i was thinking of taking it to a shop and just deleting it all together and only having the 1 muffler. Its wayyyy to quiet atm, which is nice, but also kinda boring, i do plenty of highway and travelling k's in the car as well, so i dont want something that drones either.
Deciding on exhausts is hard.
Hmm I don't know if all exhaust shops are like this, but the one I go to makes their own mufflers, so they have no trouble with unusual configurations like this.
Yep around $1300 for my mild steel 3" down pipe and complete exhaust for my R . Then I think I paid around $300 to have a race cat put in 6 months later . Was around 3 years ago though..

In your picture I was going to just tee the main line to the two smaller mufflers I was putting on my V70R .
Delete the centre muffler if present.
It’s free enough flowing till you upgrade other stuff anyway
Turbo out piping to cooler and TB should be bigger diameter them others do, it made my V70T epic with a MBC and big cheap cooler!

Ex850R wait, where is the powertrain mount on the AWD then? From what i could see, it just has a left and right engine mount, and the top engine mount, and then on the rear, where im guessing the FWD engine mount usually sits, it just had a rubber bump stop, just to stop the engine twisting too much. Is there an additional AWD engine mount im missing? if there isnt an additional AWD engine mount, then doesnt that mean the power steering rack engine mount on the FWD is unnecessary, and you could just cut it off to achieve the better steering feel you spoke of?
That’s what I mean. That mount may be in way of the angle gear on the R is in that spot and the R having all the driveline behind it is enough to hold engine in place.
So therefore, a 9” grinder and any old steering rack is good to go.
Just went back to driving the 850 after a month of driving a s70 2.5L manual i just bought (its actually an awesome condition car that s70) instantly ive realisef the 850 isnt making nearly asmuvh power as it should, almost as if the turbo isnt creating any boost, its considetably slower then that non-turbo s70. Still havent worked out why but im surprised im not getting a check engine light or any codes saying its running rich, my fuel economy is fine aswell, just not much turbo power.
Boost hoses , turbo diaphragm, if not new then they be very old and probably dead.

Was thinking more wastegate was cooked since its running fine and fuel consumption is fine, if the turbo hoses were leaking it'd run rich wouldnt it?
Cars old, but its only got 180k klms.
Probably going to put a boost gauage on it. I hope there is already a vacuume hose thats running to the dash i can use, not sure if the low pressure turbos had a hose running to the dash.
Do a smoke test. Saw a cool diy one other day.

Hrmmmmm, thats not right
Would appear theres a number of random hoses in here not connected to anything, now ive got to workout where they are supposed to g
Think i will workout where these hoses go, see if it helps, if not, ill try swapping the hoses around on the TCV, if that doesn't help, I've got a s70 T5 sitting around which has a working TCV i can borrow, so i can give that a go.
Every time I'm messing around with the turbo on this car the temptation to try and put the ECU from a T5 naggs me, its so easy to do, makes it very tempting. From my understanding its wise to upgrade the injectors before messing with that though.
This may help with the vac hoses
