Their grandfather the FJ1100/1200 is a fine looking bike for sure,I always lusted after them in the day but was/am addicted to 2T oil smoke as it gets in the veins......250/350LC Yamaha's and RG500 Suzuki (I had two...) .
I saw a couple come up for sale on motorcycle fbook pages and my heart leaped!
*Apologies Ash , this should be on a dedicated page for your ride not vlutteri6up here?
No need to apologise at all.
I do like a good session of being sidetracked.
rado Nice work on the handbrake boot Ash , sounds like a busy weekend mate ?
I think there's a motorcycles thread already actually.

Thanks man!
Today was spent on suspension and got tie rods in it as well.
Suspension took a while too, I'm very sure I'm the only person who has tried Eibach springs with Ohlins struts, with BNE/Kaplhenke strut mounts (you can purchase some BNE/Kaplhenke products through DVS too) and a DVS strut brace.
The little coach bolt style fasteners that come with the BNE/Kaplhenke strut mounts really are too short to use with our (DVS) strut brace, so we got it together using the manky old factory strut mount nuts, I'll get some longer bolts in the week and then swap them over.
ie. these guys need to be longer by 5mm -
Got it together anyway, had to machine out the sleeves we'd made a while back to fit the Ohlins reservoir mounts to the strut brace out a little futher (powdercoating of the recent run of braces appears to be a little thicker than previous ones) to get that to fit.
Fitted it all wtih a modified fuse box bracket I'd prepared a while back but that needed holes enlarged for the BNE/Kaplhenke fasteners too.
It really was just one of those days where everything just took a while.
With everything back together, went for a quick test drive and popped an intercooler hose off, so sorted that and had another drive.
The car feels very good but badly needs a wheel alignment (completely expected).
The Do88 upper pipe rubs on the fuel rail cover and transmits vibration into the cabin. I'll remove it and re-seat it all and gain some clearance. I might also drop the Delrin upper engine mount out in favour for a urethane one.
A bit of finishing off to do, there's dirty fingerprints on everything, so once it's had an engine bay wash, I'll go about getting the little bits done and replacing the tired Ohlins stickers, get a DVS sticker on the brace, etc, etc.
Ran out of enthusiasm to get the brakes done today, so went for a ride and a coffee in the afternoon instead.
