  • Sorry @ds245 everything EXCEPT the carpet for $50 - I need some $$ for that to pay for new black carpet.

  • Hi @Andoria sorry I probably can’t help you. I do have one of the centre console cubby pockets but I think I need it for my car unless I can find another one in my parts stash. The lower sill trim pieces are the same LH and RH, and should be available on any car in the scrap yard. The clips break when removing so you will have to buy new clips (genuine or aftermarket ones are available on eBay or other Volvo parts sellers). I have the rear headrests, but as I think we discussed on Facebook or elsewhere here it is a sedan so they will not fit your wagon. I need wagon rear headrests as well! :) Fitted the B-pillar plastic cover to @ds245 ‘s wagon so sorry that is gone as well.
  • Thanks to @ds245 ‘s help today I got the old 93 donor suspension rear torque rod and panhard bar bushes removed. That was a monumental task even with the right bushing tools and a hydraulic press. I reckon we came close to overloading the 20 ton press getting the bushes out. Next time I will just buy new arms with poly bushes already installed! :) Got them cleaned up a bit and installed the new SuperPro poly bushes. Dean also helped me remove the fuel and brake line bundle complete so it can be installed in the 79. Making some progress. Next step is pull rear axle out of 79 and put it in 93 body, and put 93 axle with new bushes, shocks and springs into the 79...then on to front suspension and steering.

  • Taking a break from working on @ds245 ‘s 240 wagon and back on my yellow wagon project. Got the gold donor 93 sedan on the hoist now and engine is ready to come out. I was considering dropping the crossmember, suspension, engine etc but decided to pull engine first then pull suspension and crossmember. I was a bit worried there would be too much going on to do it all at once. The end goal is to clean up the B230E (yes, B230E was in the 93 240 sedan as the previous owner cooked the FX unfortunately so a dodgy mechanic put in a B230E) and replace any gaskets/seals etc and timing belt and put it in the yellow wagon, along with the complete 93 LH2.4 wiring harness, suspension, fuel tank etc. Remind me why I’m doing this? LOL!
  • Been working on cleaning up the engine bay and interior body. Got some paint mixed up (3x rattle cans and a touch-up bottle). Matches well so I’ve started panel-by-panel touching up the small chips. Will have to re-spray part of the engine bay (RH side inner guard where brake fluid leaked and stained/removed paint and LH side up by the battery tray). I think I’ll paint the lower radiator crossmember and headlight mounting surrounds black as they’re not really visible anyway and I don’t want to waste the expensive yellow paint. Going to help @ds245 on his newly-acquired 93 240 wagon (getting it in RW condition) so a short delay on the hoist, then getting stuck back into swapping bits over from the 93 sedan parts car to the yellow wagon. Running out of room as it seems like all I do is pull cars to bits and stack the parts everywhere. I need to start putting Humpty Dumpty back together again so I scrap the 93 sedan body shell and make some more room!

  • Uh oh, look what showed up this morning. Thanks to @ds245 I now have another project for the back burner in case I ever run out of things to do. Tentative plan is to get it going using bits from the 87 240GL (AKA the paddock basher...MKI). Once I’ve had a chance to look it over and assess the nature and quantity of rust, I’ll decide what to do with it (whether a resto is worthwhile or to pass it on etc)...basically this is a place-holder thread as I don’t think I’ll be starting on it too soon.

    Anyone need a roo bar?
