Nice looking wagon Dave and the 360 are an interesting little beast. Sorry to hear about the 240, hope you can get a few bits off it for future projects.

Went and got the 264 regoed today!!!!

had a few dramas, a stolen plate notification came up so they couldn't do anything without having the police clear it....... this happened in 1994 and the car has be registered every year since then and was currently still on club rego but they decided 26 years later was a good time to bring it up... after some stuffing around we got it all sorted, new plates and she's on the road.

first stop was a trip to supercheap

then for some burgers at the beach

the car is great definitely happy with the purchase.

it was bogging down and carrying on at first, we had just under half a tank so I suspected it could be a dead intank fuel pump (do kjet cars have an intank pump??)

filled it up and no more bogging down and it runs beautifully.

Yes there is a tank pump and a main pump, you can run the pumps individually by jumping the connections in the fuse box

awesome cheers mate I was unsure about kjet cars, I'll jump the pumps tomorrow and see if it's dead..

do you know if late model 240s use the same intank pump?

I've got a good intank pump here from my 92 wagon would be handy if they are the same haha

Kjet usually have a lift pump in the tank, if it's playing up around half a tank it's usually a split lift pump hose. May aswell chuck a new pump in while you're there

K-jet and LH use different pumps. They need different pressures so you won't be able to get away with swapping pumps between them

I tested the Intank pump today and it's working so I'm guessing the hose has a hole and is sucking vapors when the tank gets lower.

do you think there's anything else it could be I should look at before I pull the intank pump out?

full tank it runs flawless cold and warm, as soon as I hit the half tank mark it starts bogging down unless you apply the throttle ridiculously slow and even then sometimes it does... fill up perfect again.

Main fuel pumps yes, in tank lift pumps are the same for all 240s

Yes sounds like poor quality fuel hose not rated for submersible use failing and splitting open causing air to be sucked through the pump once level drops below the damaged point.

decided I would pull the intank pump today and suss out what's going on.......

as suspected the hose from the pump was split and not even connected anymore.

replaced it and the car is running perfect under half a tank.

I got some louvers for the 264

and I finally recarpeted the wagon and connected the v40R seats so I can use the electric recline.

the carpet was way bigger of a job then I expected haha

still heaps to go on the interior till it's done, rear seat and door cards need to be reupholstered in black, headlining and visors will be done black, still need all new b pillar plastics etc and need new door speakers/ head unit

oh and a crack free dash hahaha

slowly chipping away at it though

so I did a thing.

I bought that B23e that's been bored out to 2.5L.

it was local, cheap and interesting.

it has been bored out oversize to take 283 chev v8 pistons.

bore size is 3-7/8"

the motor has done 300.000ks since being built so it's holding up well. has only been run on LPG and looks spotless inside.

the plan is to just clean it up and run it in the 264, nothing crazy but something diffrent, I want to ditch kjet and go to a dual carb setup, will also be throwing the auto in the bin and going manual.

the motor was abit of a risk being so overbored but it has held up well for 300ks and speaking to the guy that built it gave me hope. it's the second one he has built and the bottom end was meticulously done and everything was balanced.

I have a standard B23e I got off him aswell so I might clean them both up and have the standard one on standby just incase she goes bang haha

this won't be a fast project I'm in no rush and have lots of other stuff to do before I get into it but I think it will be interesting.

the guy said the motor ran extremely smooth and had plenty of torque so sounds like fun to me.

bonus score for me is....... there's an ac delete bracket on the motor so I can ditch the compressor and just run pwr steering on the 264!!

had a little time today so I pulled out the ac compressor and swapped in the ac delete bracket

it does feel like it revs abit easier and I swear I can feel that extra 1hp I gained not to metion a slight weight reduction hahahaha

I finally got around to doing all the brakes on the wagon.

new discs front and rear, new pads and new rubber lines.

was having a real hard time bleeding the system just couldn't get good pressure, fought with it for 2 days till I decided to pull the master out...

all master seals were torn.

tried making another good master out off 3 spares I had, did get better pressure but was still soft and spongey as hell, admitted defeat and bought a brand new master.

my local Volvo specialist is going to install the master and bleed the system up this Friday for me Im over fighting with it and I need it done asap.

onto more positive news I installed some louvers on the 264.

I also bought dash cams for both cars.

installed the 264 one today.

all wires are up under the roof liner and trims and I'll be installing a 12v socket into the glovebox to power it without having to have cords everywhere.

the wagon will be next but I'm not looking forward to that one, it's going to be a bloody pain doing the rear camera, I haven't figured out a nice way to do it yet, ideally I would run the wire thru the grommet on the tailgate into the body but the stupidly shaped usb wire it has won't fit through it.

alternatively I could stick it to the rear cargo roof light and run the wires under the roof liner but I think that would annoy me and look stupid.

anyone done a rear camera on the wagons that could give me some ideas?

installed a catch can in the 264.

was getting abit of oil in the air box and intake hose so decided a can would help.

just a shitty ebay special but it does the job

flame trap cleaned and new hoses run.

I'll be doing the wagon catch can setup next that ones abit more involved.

I'll be venting from oil cap, mechanical fuel pump hole and the stock block vent into a good can then back to pre turbo.

I need to take the intercooler and all piping and hoses out and clean everything its all super full of oil..
