Just curious, what are some of the big power volvos in Australia or on this forum? What are common applications and methods of people getting power out of volvos (Swaps, turbo)?
Big Power Volvos
What kind of Volvo are we talking about?
RWD

@alphax has a 240 with an l98+LSA blower, TR6060 and Ford 8.8 - here is his thread:

Yup. Into a 142. Been hunting for parts for years and years, and once we've finished moving into our new residence, the build will finally begin.Klaptrap24;139495 wrote@bgpzfm142 is building a 16v turbo in an rwd volvo iirc

Still to decide on engine management system, manifolding, and turbocharger for the 16V engine - EMS will be what the local tuners here can work with.

Damn, very cool. A wide variety of swaps and platforms too which is super interesting
There is a few others, but most people either don't need to advertise anymore, or are still in progress. Are you after anything in particular? Turbobricks.com forums cover a few high power redblock volvos. Like linuxmans 740 16v that runs 9s
this is a good one: YLD244, a big turbo b230ft

Big turbo redblocks looks amazing
Nothing in particular, I was just curious to see what people have doneVee_Que;c-139519 wroteThere is a few others, but most people either don't need to advertise anymore, or are still in progress. 9 second passes though... thats fast
Linuxman51 is a massive nerd though, you gotta keep that in mind, if he's not a professional tuner he's some kind of engineer.blake123;c-139532 wrote9 second passes though... thats fast
Linuxman is in I.T and in spare time does car stuff. There are a few others like him, also builds in Europe. It's not as comparable to skylines etc. But the redblock makes good torque against other engines of similar size too.
@Vee_Que yeah he's a systems engineer. The username kind of gives it away tbh
Not sure yet. :) I've looked at the spec of their premium unit and it looks very nice. But I will have to talk with the guys who will tune it about what they prefer to work with. Considering a Volvo B230 16V +t will be enough new territory for them, it seems to me that the tuning process will progress faster if they are already familiar with the EMS' responses and quirks, and how to make it do certain things to make the engine respond a certain way, without having to learn a new EMS too.Klaptrap24;c-139514 wroteHaltech?bgpzfm142;c-139511 wrote

There is a street registered 242 with a twin turbo rover v8 that runs 9s also. Which doesn't lift the heads any time it's used.
Is that the canberra car? Grey/gunmetal on Simmons wheels. It's really neatVee_Que;c-140172 wroteThere is a street registered 242 with a twin turbo rover v8 that runs 9s also. Which doesn't lift the heads any time it's used.
