Oh the original color is dark gray pearl with 172 k on the clock automatic

A screen shot of the amp adapter but zooming in it says front and rear , hmmm . Maybe i should just splice into the rear cables and run the bass amp old school style with a line out converter

After working out what i think i wanted to do i googled the sh*t out for a few hours and finally found what i was after. Plain and simple to run a after market amp to an oem HU but to keep the oem amp for the front and rear speakers running . So this must be done splicing into the wires pre amp ..

Down there is the amp so i disconnected the plug

This is the diagram i found

Even though none of the colors didn't match up with mine the numbers did so i spliced into the rears for the after market amp with this

Lol empty packet , its a high level to low , basically connect wires to speaker wire and have rca coming out . So now i have the oem HU back in with the oem amp powering the front and rear speakers + an aftermarket amp with a sub . From what I've heard so far through the system its a great inprovment from the other system . So oem sound with a good bit of bass to boot ?

Yesterday was boot day , time to tidy it up , so it was looking like this

not looking too pretty , so out with everything

then a damn good clean and start the sound proofing , then after measuring with the wheel riveted the amp to the wall on the floor ..

while the floor was out i gave it a few coats of paint also took the speaker out and used another can of glue so the carpet sticks to the wire mesh very well ...

the wheel fits very sung now , no movement at all ...

I had to adjust the gains (what ever they are called) on the amp as it was tooo much bass as the previous after market Philips HU was umm pretty crap in power , the original HU has a damn sight more power . After a few tweaks its running pretty sweet , i'd actually say better than being in a box , so at last its done .......

Last week i ditched this ......

Closely watching the boost gauge and i don't see any spike so all good . Have noticed a bit of wheel spin as well when giving it some beans , never had that before .

Bank balance has and will take take another hit next week as have Volvo cam belt and water pump kit from bmg and bbk from Ash ready for Tuesdays service , looking forward to getting the bigger brakes on . Then the week after its Japanifold with 18t and 3" exhaust system time . Its all going on.

Finally got the 6 cd magazine for the auto changer this week also so thats cool .

Hope this set doesn't get nicked ?

So in your opinion the new boost control valve works better than the IPD one.

Ill have the splitter to you soon, will use the original freight box due to distance and number of handleings by couriers.

Yeah I'd say it does work better than the ipd . The gauge seems a lot smoother and so does the power as it go's.

You just dont want the box ? , na that's fine mate with the box , whatever you are happy with ? , best get some nails to hammer it on

Box lid tech screwed on, it's very well made to protect splitter that's shy I saved it for yours a cross cou try.

Just got the car back this afternoon from some surgery , and the list goes something like ....

New rear discs and pads

BBK pads , discs and lines on the front

Service inc all new fluids

Japanifold with 18t

3" turbo back exhaust

And by the looks of it my Forge actuator is at the post office waiting to be picked up ..

Took it for a couple of blasts this morning and once it hits 4k rmp it certainly picks up and go's , fit the actuator later and throw the ard ecu in then see what happens ?

No one's body is designed to work on FWD turbo cars lol. it kills my back when i mess around in the engine bay.

So , with the standard actuator i was getting around 12 - 15 on the gauge, with the forge im getting around 7 -8 so will get the spring kit and try the different springs .

Now i just put the ARD tune in and im getting around 17 - 15 at 5000 rpm

So with the tune in should i still change the springs ?

These look pretty good and do the job extremely well

No don't change the spring, 1.1 to 1.2 bar is top of where you want to be on standard rods and no afr gauge ?

How do she sound now with a full exhaust?

Sounds pretty good actually, i tbh wasn't looking forward to a loud one . It has 3 mufflers . Still pretty loud but on start up / tick over sounds great . Pootaling around town is pretty quiet .
