Very satisfying! I recall polishing a t:stat housing and knocking the nipple off.....buggr....in the bin!
You could do some renovation on the back! Ask your GP for lyrica and get a good osteopath.

Had an operation on it on 1st june then had 6 weeks off . Should have taken 10 weeks but it all seemed good . Hours of bending over the bonnet triggered it thursday . That lyrica doesn't do much , pure codine takes most of the pain away .

Yeah i do enjoy polishing alloy up , shouldn't have sold my petrol compressor it was far easier with that rather than a bench drill .

It's staying put , it's just starting to get somewhere , no smell either lol

Sanded , filled , painted then dipped. The finish is lovely.

Today though I'd put the shiny stuff on and the new mounts . All good apart from the bulk head one

That bolt will not go past that pipe to get the bracket off damn !

Take the plastic scuttle cover off,unbolt the whole bracket,see all the crap in there and spend ages cleaning it!

So back to early October, we need to get to England for the wife's mother's funeral. Very short notice i couldn't find kennels for the dogs so a mates son (21) offers to stay at the house to look after them . Happy days . I get phone call from him 3 days into our trip .... Steve can i borrow your car as mine has bold tires etc , so yeah no problem just dont get any tickets etc . No I've calmed down I'm sorta laughing. ...

Cracked bumper and curbed wheel , but the dogs were looked after ? .

Hopefully over the crimbo break i can get these on

Bit of an update, closer pic of that wheel

So anyway with the damage to the front bumper i got a couple of cans and painted the side skirts as the lacker was shot just to see the color match

Pretty good match. So off with the bumper today

I've sanded back to where i repaired it around 2 years ago and glad i drilled at the ends of the cracks when i did as it has stopped any further cracking . I've refilled so waiting for that to take hold then smooth it all off .

While everything is off I'll put the head lamp washers on that i gained from a member here and i have enough paint to do the bonnet so least it's presentable. I have a spare set of inner arches as well so all good . Something to do over the Christmas break ?

Yesterday was an eventful day as painted the bonnet and bumper and not looking too shabby. The bumper is good the bonnet not so much but it's all one color at last . ( it'll get a full respray in tilme it's just not a priority atm .

Im in the middle of changing the plastic inner guards right now as mine are shot , while the wheels is off i tried one of the 16s and happy days they fit

Well it's all back together and only broke one windscreen washer jet lol . Good to see decent inner arches with proper fixings . Even the headlight wipers worked although they don't now , will have to look into that over the break . Lacquered the bonnet a couple more times today and waiting for that to dry , still looks crap but 10x better than what it did before . Also swaped over the trim that sits to the side of the screen that go's up the A Pannel as yep mine were shot .

Slowly but surly getting there .....

It's not looking too shabby now lol . The sound system has always been a bit lackluster so changed all door speakers for some Kenwood speakers and well was better but still no bass . Jumped on the ole gumtree and bought some pioneer gear for $150 . Ahhh the difference, can finally listem to music

It also has a remote bass boooost as well lol

Been a few years since I've messed with car stereo's , quite enjoyed it as it go's. ..

Original is made by Dynaudio, there's not much you can buy that's better than them.

After nigh on 24 years i think they needed changing fella .

So with having a silly looking speaker in the boot it was a bit tight in there to get all my tools for work in there .

So from last year when i had the spare wagon for parts i kept everything from the boot and now and then been tinkering over the months . This weekend decided to put it all in the car ......

First the old floors

Off with the old carpets and cut some old 16mm plywood , lined the 2 floors up and screwed the ply underneath

Cut a hole and had some old marine grade stainless steel mesh

Filled the join where the 2 floors met then screwed and siliconed the mesh

Found 2 meters of carpet from years ago in a cupboard

Before the speaker was screwed in i cut another piece of ply with a smaller hole and screwed the speaker in to that so it has plenty of strength .

Doesn't look too bad and had some left over to do the 2 little side bits , and now back to having a decent boot space . Will need some sound deadening around the wheel space , but will do for now . Never wanted a big BOOOM BOOOM , just a little more bass , so this will do me

Will tidy it all up underneath at sometime .......

Surprisingly it sounds good , not as deap as if it were in the box though. Next month or so I'll sound deaden the wheel space and that will make a bit of a difference. There was a vibration this morning but it was a cordless box over the mesh . When the boot is empty it's all good . Just not as BOOM BOOM as in the box , now just a good bit of bass ?
