Bit of an update then ,

Just coming up to 191 k and due a service and starting a new job ( sub contract ) for 6 months but an hour and a half drive each way . Luckily my new boss rang on Saturday and he's bought me a Holden combo van to drive to and from work . Happy days as the k's would have piled on my car . So its back to a weekend toy . Very happy with that .

This let's me get back to doing a bit more body work .

Next the rear bumper , as it has a few scrapes and a big kink . So rather than repair the one on the car i have a spare . It's not in great shape but a damn sight better than the one one the car ...

For some reason in its life the front and rear have been painted , the black pieces I'm on about so I'll do the same as i quite like it as it go's . Just something different. ...

It gets upto 110 eventually ? but the steering is way too light , almost off the road a couple of times . And yeah that seat is something else . Will do something about the back soon as it's pretty noisy with no bulkhead. But all im thinking is its saving me 280ks a day on the wagon so that is great .

Ours had a refrigerated unit formed into the back, so summer without an air-con made it a real hotbox, but it wasn't that noisy. Hopefully they've moved the computer off the engine, because the engine heat cooks the ECU after a while and they become about as reliable as a early 2000s XC90 that hasn't had a transmission oil flush.

This weekend was time to tackle the rear bumper . After a couple of washes i noticed it also has had a bump plus a few small gauges so instead of filling etc i just sanded and painted so when it does eventually get a decent paint job my mate can do it properly.

In primer this is what im on about

Another fix today and happy it was an easy one . Drivers heated seat has never worked since I've had it . Had a look on the interweb and watched the video . Had a look under the seat and yep

Broken wire .

So pulled the thermostat out

New connection on and back in the hole and now nice warm butt . Happy days .

Had a small score today while clearing up the shed and gathering all volvo parts in one place .

Iv'e been slowly collecting parts for the oem stereo to go back in someday but the tape player never worked apparently , luckily the previous owner kept the wires when he changed the head unit ........

I came across this a while ago and thought it would go well , just need the cartridge for the cds

Now iv'e been reading this / these set ups have a separate amp that sits behind the head unit , is it necessary to have this amp ? As i will be running an amp just for the woofer in the boot ?

Re foaming the alloy mesh over the speakers is easy, just use an old electric tooth brush to get rid of the old foam that's stuck to the mesh.

Ok , so i bought an ARD green tune from a member here and fitted it this morning. All nice and normal until roughly 3800 rpm then holy fcuk ! Damn i love this car more and more . I've not driven like that in a good few years let alone spin the wheels . Made myself shake lol . The boost gauge showed 20 then a slight peak of around 23 -24 at around 6000 rmp . Think i may have to put the normal ecu back in until i sort the brakes out but damn this is fun now , not felt that in a long time . Thank you Snoop ?

i recall now it was to be an 18 - 20 PSI tune with injectors etc , a controlled boost bleed valve may be a good thing. I remember looking at those electronic ones in my quest to build that V70R , heaps of fun!

I'm still not too au fait with turbo engines even though this is my third turbo car . This being the first that I've 'played ' with so still a lot of reading to do . What would a controlled boost blead valve replace ?
