I decided to test fit my aluminium radiator. The ports are in the wrong position so I needed to modify the bulkhead to suit the ports.


I need to sort out some rubber supports to hold the radiator in place, as the radiator is thicker than the original.

Just enough clearance for the intercooler - It sits maybe 10mm from the radiator. Hoses just fit between the radiator and headlights ?

I'm getting the motor ready to be pulled. I'm going to wait until the new motor is on the engine stand before I pull it and swap everything over.
The block has been stripped, cleaned and is almost ready for reassembly. New everything, even the Welsh plugs are being replaced.
My oversized pistons arrived and have been dropped off to Phillip head service with the H-beam rods. (Photos soon)
The 531 head is getting 38mm exhaust valves, mild porting of the upper exhaust ports and de-shrouding the valves in the Combustion chamber. I'm going with uprated valve springs (have been told XR6 springs can be used, still need to investigate) and fitting my stage 3 cam with uprated exhaust studs.

I'm getting pretty damn excited to get the beast going again. I reckon I'm about 6 weeks away from turning the key. With any luck my Torsens LSD, currently being made by Quaife, will arrive and I'll have the traction to match the power.
