  • [sold] [ebay] 1998 v70 R manual

8k is reasonable if this is the type of car you are looking for. Also non electronic throttle is such a huge win.
Mark thinks it's the one he sold a year or so ago, for a lot less than that...
Makes the value of mine look good!
BigEd;130161 wroteis that consider alot of km on the clock?
its sitting around the 5k mark, is the price reasonable? (8k on gumtree)...
the 850r go for alot higher i.e. carsales....
decisions decisions
Dont take too long making a decision mate. They dont come around often
Mine will be up there soon enough!
With a kool modified auto, not that crap 5spd with its dumb ratios that annoy the feck out of you.
Put an M66 in it from an S40 or v50 AWD if you want proper manual.
Opinions... what's better to own out of this or a V50 T5 M66?

Is this the same car? Spotted in VIC yesterday and has a rear passenger brake light out.
Otherwise looks an amazing car and has a 'bloody Volvo driver' sticker on te back.
Nope never mind just saw the NSW plates!

Really hard choice. Bit better cargo space and wider shoulder space in the V70. V50 has more real life power on my butt dyno, maybe just from driving more shagged out R's. Would happily live with either though (once you eliminate the dash squeaks and rattles).
Go the R - very rare, only other manual I've seen, plus comes with an 18T, fill the cutout with a TME twin exhaust

I’m one of those ‘has to be a wagon’ arseholes :)
Has to be a wagon.
Volvo wagons can fit a club lounge armchair in, a fridge, a side of beef, why would you own a volvo sedan...
The 96 yellow 850 T5 R manual isn't a bad a sedan to own but I'm with you on the wagons - I have two of them, 97 V70 T5 and 98 V70 R manual, I love every rattle, clunk and squeak in both of them ;)
"Volvo wagons can fit a club lounge armchair"
Forget the armchair mate, how about a 2 metre long Moran 3 seater Club Lounge into an 850 wagon?
The tailgate was fully closed.
But my gut was squashed over the steering wheel , my face was pressed up against the windscreen and something else was wedged else was up hard against the drive selector
Lucky it was just a 20k trip from David Jones city store, and in 1999 when Sydney's roads were'nt half as crowded..
Oh a missed opportunity? Increase your bid mate!! If you really wanted the car you would watch it like a hawk and then sniper them with only 20 seconds remaining. Missed opportunity my arse mate :)

I was stalking you in a little white work car with ladders on the roof up bell street :)
