I came close to buying an Auto 2004 V70r from him once, maybe 3 or 4 years ago.
The price was good for the time, around 19K but could not find the time to get down there to see it, I think he even offered to help organise shipping.

BTW, Just a little anecdote: Volvo interest seems much stronger than in Melbourne than Sydney. The majority of cars I have been interested in were from Melbourne. In the 7 years I have been looking only 3 late model V70r's have been for sale in Sydney and all 3 were auto. Even the 96 850 wagon I bought new in Sydney somehow ended up in Melbourne 2 weeks later after I traded it in on a new V70. Interstate shipping does not seem to faze the wholesale buyers as the market in melbourne is solid.

I think my son would have preferred an 850R. They are a classic beast of a car. . But when this V70R came up in Sydney it was hard to pass up and there is also the possibility of reinstating the AWD if he so desires.

Yes, he gets all the good ones!
Be sure to check here for AWD parts as @Rob has found cheap bearings that volvo want a million bux for, Mark can put you onto driveshaft etc. The correct fluids type etc etc, all that info is here.
I tell you, an AWD V70R is bloody amazing!
I love auto too.
