Got a couple of things done today.
Changed the power steering rack for a known good 2nd hand one.

Also picked up an astra electric power steer pump, in addition to taking some load off the motor it is much lighter than the original pump/compressor/mounting bracket.

Fitted the adjustable cam gear off the 360 as the new motor for the 360 will be getting built this year.

Looks heavy, think you will need to replace the interior with lead bricks to save weight!!

I also have a set of 4.1 diff gears from a 740 to go in, does anyone have torque settings etc. for when I put them in?
I’m thinking of going with a spartan locker as well, can the whole centre from the 740 be used in the 240 housing or will I have to use the 4.1 crown wheel on the 240 centre?

You should use the one from your car if the 740 tone ring doesn't match yours. The bearings need to shimmed which does take a bit of effort.

The shims I am aware of, it was more the pinion gear I was hoping to get info on, it looks like it has a crush washer/sleeve that needs to be torqued correctly...

Been through that with a mates jeep front diff. It was around 180nm iirc, but he had issues with noise on overrunn etc, so ft is what he went for like I've had to do on other diffs to get the play out.

Any guides or tips (anyone can reply). I don't want to pull my entire diff out and take it to a diff shop. Seems that the hard part is the preload and shimming.

As long as you get the contact pattern between the crown wheel & pinion right, it should be fine. Just take your time and gather as much info as you can before starting.

Small update: I didn’t like how the other USB/voltmeter worked out, so I got another off eBay to replace the cigarette lighter, looks much better.
