Alrighty, I bought this 740 turbo its been sitting for a while. Firstly the fuel pump relay was buggered so I've bypassed with a wire and switch for now. The pump does work you can hear it and it doesn't sound bad. I've syphoned old fuel out and put 20 litres of 98 in so its deffs got fuel but the gauge shows its empty IDK why. Its spluttered with start ya bastard but that's about it so it gets spark. Tomorrow I plan to clean the engine bay even more as it's still pretty dirty and check everything. I had a quick look underneath and the filter looks new. Tommorrow I'll jack the car up and have a better look. So yeah any tips on this would be great cheers.
Distributor sensor. sputtered doesn't match running. Also by bypassing the fuel relay you can have caused other issues as the fuel is linked to the ignition. Try the brickboard diagnosis /faq page.
it is amazing how quickly fuel systems can deteriorate from sitting. My 262 had sat for a couple of years and i found this when I pulled the pump out of the tank.

doesn't mean yours will be like this, just saying don't assume the fuel system is good just because you can hear the pump running.

How could i test the dizzy sensor
I cracked the fuel filter line and turned the pump on and lots of shitty yellow fuel came out I let it go until fresh fuel I put in started flowing, the pump and filter look new and they are not clogged from this test. Time to check fuel rail stuff
Change engine coolant sensor.. blue for turbo
740 are known for temp and fuel gauge inaccurate readings
6 days later
The coolant leak is fixed and I have a new fuel pump relay but it still doesn't want to start. Idk why
Is the fuel getting to fuel pressure reg
Coolant sensor is important part we had a no start 740 was coolant sensor
I pulled the fuel line off the pressure regulator and cranked the car and no fuel was coming out. Does that mean no?

Which one is the coolant sensor? Is it this?
The sensor on top right of radiator it's not letting me post images idk why

Turned the fuel pump on with the switch and fuel is coming out of pressure reg
The coolant sensor is under manifold above 3 rd cylinder has blue plug for turbo black plug for non turbo its for the ecu if you have small hands ya can get it done without taking manifold off..also there a relay on drivers side shocky tower turn key hold see if it clicks
I don't see a relay on the shock Tower, also what would I do with the sensor after taking it out
Just unplug the sensor. The computer should assume cold engine and go rich.

But start with isolation. Put 12V directly to the fuel pump circuits and see if the pumps start.

My fuel pump does start and works fine. I'll unplug the coolant sensor and see if the car starts
Unplugged the coolant sensor, car still doesn't start.
Oh sorry man, I misread your last post. Okay so next step would be to confirm spark.

Edit: if you haven't touched anything in the engine bay I guess it's safe to assume spark is still fine from the last time you checked it
That's all good, when I first got it I tried starting it with spray and it ran for a 2 seconds just on starter spray. I'm fairly sure it gets spark. I'll still check tho what's the best way to do that? Never checked spark on a car only on dirt bikes and stuff
Just pull a plug and attach lead to it and ground the plug on something on the body
The car wont start with it unplugged did you check the relay on shocky tower
Check the relay.. may be on radiator bottle side of it
The car does get spark, I don't see any relay near the rad bottle

try unplugging the mass airflow meter and see if it starts...
I reckon its this relay or the coolant sensor
There is no relay on the bottle or any relay dangling about in that area. And I'm sure the car would still start with a bad sensor. Wouldn't it only be hard to hot start if it was bad?
As i said we had same trouble the car would not start.. if sensor was bad.. took like 20 tries to go once warm was fine... that sensor is so important
Try some start you bastard (ether). If the engine kicks over you have a fuel problem.
And at least you are not chasing your tail and a spark problem causing the issue.
Are your injectors firing? Do you have voltage to them?

I'm not sure if the injectors are firing. I don't own a volt meter as well
The relay i mentioned controls the injectors
Used start ya bastard like I have before and it went for a bit just running on the spray but my number 1 fuse littelry melted idk why. New fuse board now really pissed me off.
Im telling you ..its either of those 2 items. .we had identical problem

I can't find it anywhere
