So just go through rego as normal? I love itGhettobird;105374 wroteYup

The pod filter needs an enclosure though
Cheers mate, needs a few things like that for rego. Washer bottle, working horn etc etcjamesinc;105381 wroteThe pod filter needs an enclosure though
I took a washer bottle from a Fairlane at pickies, worked a treat:heavy_dd;105383 wroteCheers mate, needs a few things like that for rego. Washer bottle, working horn etc etcjamesinc;105381 wroteThe pod filter needs an enclosure though

Curious did you make a custom turbo downpipe or did the 7/9 series downpipe fit? I've heard various things about it but no definitive answer. I know the LHD pipe won't fit as my dad did a B230FT in his 240 in the US and he had to have a custom one made up to avoid it hitting the bulkhead. He tried a B21ET downpipe which fit but did not allow access to the 740T remote oil filter he used. Thanks!
Car had a custom exhaust when bought it. Pretty sure part of the stock down pipe is used. Can take some photos tonight if you likecarnut222;105388 wroteCurious did you make a custom turbo downpipe or did the 7/9 series downpipe fit? @Philia_Bear knows this one. You can use a 7/9 downpipe but I think you have to make a slight mod to it.
Yeah, just needs an extra 5-10* of angle put into the top of it so it curves around a little harder
There have been lots of definitive answers. And tutorials. Some are on these threads.carnut222;105388 wroteCurious did you make a custom turbo downpipe or did the 7/9 series downpipe fit? It's not an issue for any exhaust shop worth going to.
OK, so the definitive answer is the 740T downpipe doesn't fit without modification, which is contrary to somebody on this forum who said it fits as is with no modification when I asked about the several conversions they've done...I didn't believe that but wanted to! Maybe I didn't communicate clearly enough when I asked the question or when he said it fits no problem he just meant yeah sure cut it in half and weld it back up again no problem LOL!
It can work. That's this issue. I've seen lots of different "factory" dump pipes. Some people may think it was factory dump pipe, though it may have been replace with out knowledge of it being different. 7/9 have more room. So some zorst shops may shape them differently.
Easiest and least headaches, is to head to a quality exhaust shop and have one made to suite the car.

@carnut222 it may work for certain exhaust flanges (e.g. conical) where you can rotate the pipe freely about the flange. It may also work for certain steering shafts.
Make sure you flip your steering shaft. From the factory, the big end will be at the top, and the narrow section at the bottom. You can take it out, flip it around so the narrow section is at the top and the big section is at the bottom. This will improve clearance for the downpipe.

Interesting. How does the legality work if you were converting a B23E to LH2.4/2.2?
Technically not legal without full emissions testing and certification, but actually highly unlikely to raise any eyebrows at any stage.

^ not to mention the general idea the efi is more efficient and lower emissions in its factory forms over the mechanical ego. Some may just turn a blind eye.IF it was to be noticed.
It's actually down to the engine used. If you put a 1995 b230ft it needs all the parts from that. No different to a V8 Conversion.Ovlover;105411 wroteInteresting. How does the legality work if you were converting a B23E to LH2.4/2.2?
Alex that's if your changing the entire engine. Compared to a fueling configuration change. Ie: efi back to carburetor, carburetor to efi and so on.
Then you have the added headaches of engine or body year. And requirements for a cat.
