If you use a motor from an ADR27+ car, then your car will have to comply with whatever emissions requirements apply to that motor.
That isn't t my understanding, from reading VSI-06, above.
Is there another regulation elsewhere that says the replacement engine must meet the ADRs of the vehicle it came out of, and not the vehicle it's going into?
That interpretation could get interesting if the the latter is true, since no ADRs apply to an AQ171 marine engine, which is basically a B230 16V.
It's the vehicle which must comply with the ADRs, and the engine is only a component of the vehicle.
