So I did buy that S60, all up with shipping down here from Pickles it cost about $1k.
I had to cut off the bonnet latches with a hacksaw to open her up, which was easy enough. Engine inside looks pretty good – the frame, radiator, intercooler etc seem to have taken the brunt of it, nothing looked badly crushed. I did lever the radiator back into place to get a better look, after removing the upper framing.
It was listed without odometer reading – figured battery was dead or worse they had no key. In the end it came with a key.. phew
Once I worked out how to get into the boot (there's a secret key hole near the licence plate lights) I took the battery out to charge her up. But, charger said no, ta. So I had to take the battery out the XC90, which is a bit flat by now.
Suffice to say I couldn't get it to start, though it turned over. I'll charge the battery and try again – be nice to know it definitely runs..
What I did find out is that, somewhat disappointingly, it has 238,000 kms on it. Which means it probably needs some TLC...
I'll start extracting it over the weekend. Looks like if I remove all the front end framing, rad, IC etc I should have good access to pull it out the top.

Nice leather sport wheel – will go in the XC
Gauges – again will swap into the XC if poss. Same with the switchgear ie: stalks
Pretty nice leather door cards
Seats - I'll mount these up in the XC if I can – even if it means reskinning.
