Is the engine from your c30? The adaptor plate, was it from the US? which t5 are you using specifically? It looks like an el falcon/vs commodore box but i could be wrong.

Yep c30 engine, adapter plate is the deeworks t5 to t5 kit and the t5 is the falcon one same as the mustang they use in the states

Actually, they aren't the same, the shifter position on various falcon ones are different, as I've gone through with t5 manual swaps.

Custom flywheel as well? For a whiteblock swap I'm doing, the cost of using anything else is too much, but I actually don't know the options out there.

How did you go mounting with the late block? As the bosses don't exist that are needed like on the earlier blocks.

I have 3 t5's, a vn v8 box, vr v6 and an el falcon t5. Danilo went with the falcon box as it had the shortest extension housing and the input shaft length is the same as the mustang box.
There's actually heaps of misinformation about the late RNC whiteblocks

Well actually, no falcon box has the same length input shaft as a mustang from my experience with ea-au 6 cyl boxes, it must have been changed, they aren't hard to get, and in the case of the el on box, you can get the shaft modified as ive had done multiple times now by gear repair....

Unless it was a v8 box. Because no one seemed to get info on them.

What's the shifter length? And what are you using for the clutch throwout?

Flywheel and clutch are out for a focus rs mk2 "Volvo 5 cylinder" concentric slave is the mallwood t5 flat face, I made my own adaptor plates for the block uitilizing the rh cv shaft bolts and the lh altinator and power steering pump bracket mounting holes then used cortina nolathane engine mounts on the stock Amazon subframe engine mount points and then fabricated the rest of the mount while the engine was dummy fit into its final position to connect the two together. I'll take photos of the mounts on the engine when it's out next if you like?

Thanks, it is actually useful information like this that makes for a good build thread to me. So are cortina mounts straight bolted on either side? I went with discovery v8 mounts for my b20.

The cortina mounts are straight bolted on both sides , they're avalible in nolathane and are quite compact at 25mm thickness.

Agreed lots of details on threads are very useful for people to get ideas from but most of it is custom fabricated for this specific engine swap into this specific body , I'm happy to help out where I can with most things and share info but there are certain elements of the build that I will keep to myself until it's on the road and driving, engine selection is key to how quickly this build is going, starting with a forward facing plenum and rearward facing turbo is a massive advantage and has saved weeks of fab work, the physical dimentions of the engine and its ancillarys is also an advantage over the n whiteblockas it's a much more compact design and already has coil packs and no distributer protruding from the rear of the head, yes it is more expensive to purchase in the beginning than the n whiteblock that seems to be the norm for this type of conversion but this expense is far outweighed by the advantages that it provides.
Being so familiar with this engine is also a big advantage I already know there is a plethora of parts avalible to help simplify the build in terms of clutches , flywheels and various other parts
Having the engine shared by ford has opened up a giant itinerary up of aftermarket parts.
As for the t5 it's a perfect fit with the exception of machining a bush to adapt the spigot, the input shaft is spot on. Deeworks gives no assistance with supporting components for the swap but I'm sure his adaptor plate is worked out on a mustang t5, the thickness of the adapter is crucial to how this all bolts up and whether you need to spend extra money and time modifying input shafts. Will get some info on the box and send it your way also the adaptor plate was around $350 au on pre order delivered so for ease of install it's not much cash to throw down and cheaper than having it machined up here in aus.

In my humble opinion I would have no covers on top of the donk to make it fit with the era, maybe a fabricated cam wheel cover.

Fwiw, My redblock to t5 adaptor plates are around $220, so the cost to have them made with The whiteblock one you bought being more complicated than the other one I know of, is probably about right. But I'm very aware of input shaft lengths, the importance for a 740 is a long shifter position and the au box uses a different angle gear, so the cost of a new shaft to replace an Australian box one or to cut an au one down because you can't use the mustang one is roughly the same, with a warranty on it too.

On the block thing. Its almost always because people use 960 engine mounts, so you need the n block, only because most conversions are in 240 and 740 bodyshells. With that said, they did go to coilpacks in 1998 so an n block with coilpacks is also what I'm doing for the car in question.

Coil-on-plug and fly by wire is 1999 on.
1998 and prior are cable throttle and non-COP.

So just picked up all the modules, starter motor throttle peddle, ignition, keys wiring harnesses and just about every thing else for the engine bay up to the cem.. Still need to source a dash harness and interior harness... Lots of wire tracing and deleting of Un wanted plugs and wires but should hopefully have a few more picks tomorrow hopefully of a giant pile of wire connectors relays and fuses.
