T3rrorbyt3 Vee_Que;93802 wroteWhat are they from? do you know of cvi in sweden to get parts? They're from eBay. Yeah stumbled across it a few weeks ago but I've just been getting seals and stuff through George.
Vee_Que Yeah. George is double the price, but his service is good. I did get the channel rubbers etc through him though due to availability. But almost everything else, from cvi or skandix, cvi postage is good as well. But if you have the extra money, better to support local industry.
deleted_user_160 Funny enough George was the same price for a few 140 bits including express postage, as cvi less shipping. And he actually stocked a few parts cvi don't.
1971_144GL Very nice to hear that the longer term options for the car are in the plan. Your engineering adaptions are impressive. On the question of original cars, one of my favourite lecture slides is of a 60s vintage car which is immaculate as a restoration, and has a sale value of 1 million. The next slide I show is of the same model sold for 25 million because it is original, sound, maintained, but intact as it has been passed down by history. I think it is great to keep possibilities of return to original specifications on the table, and congrats for taking this more difficult and brain bending approach. My experience is that it pays off in the end. 145 Al will be lauging all the way to the bank in 30 years, even with a volvo . Just look at what they used to say about vw Kombi campers.
Vee_Que Looks good, rn block? The one from your c30 even? Al: you're talking about actually valuable cars to start with, in 30 years, people who are nostalgic about 60s cars can't drive them anymore. Look at the prices of veteran cars that arent sort after for hot rodding. Its cyclical. Kombis, everyone supposedly had one and the baby boomers now who think cars are an investment buy them to speculate. To think otherwise is a dream
jamesinc Man, I'm pretty salty I didn't have time to swing by and see this first hand ? stupid S13 suspensions!
Vee_Que Are we going to get info on the install? Pics of the mounts being made? Engine being removed from your c30? Assuming you've done the work yourself.
T3rrorbyt3 Mounts have already been made but I can take photos next time the engine and box are out. I've got photos of the seat mounts and the engine before we put it in so I'll pop some of those ones up.
