Vspeed Yeah but the aussie ones are all 14,15,16 inch..very few 17 or 18 inch around and i dont want to buy someone else's used, beat up old wheels. I wanted the correct dia and offset that fits my 142 best..new was the only way to go
deleted_user_160 That's understandable, I ended up doing the opposite. Got a 16" rays 83manufature wheel set. Changed the pcd, offset was fine, then I re-furbished the whole wheel set. Right down to machining up the hardware and washers today, so I can finish them ready for motoclassica. The more I spoke with retro wheel enthusiasts, the more my wheels sounded odd to them found out only a small number were made for specific people. 15" were common offering so we're 14". Well worth saving
Vspeed Those wheels sound really cool and sounds like you have done alot of work to them.nice era correct wheels
deleted_user_160 definitely young gen simmons, barrels are diffent to the old 6061 grade alloy. yeah havnt had my 245 for 15years now. got a 745t and 142
deleted_user_160 yes, i never will post build threads. as much as i like to read many. not a fan of having every nut and bolt open for the free world to view.
Philia_Bear Vspeed;87533 wrote18x8.5 with offset of ET26 Would have expected a near zero offset with that width in a 2 series but i guess the 1 series are just that different

deleted_user_160 This is the difference. Between Virgo and the modern Simmons above. (Think Chris changed the rear diff) diff is mentioned somewhere early in the thread.
deleted_user_160 Can't remember what a standard 14" would have been on a 140. This is what my old 245 was. In comparrason to what i am about to put on.
