It has a larger rear bar (19mm Ultra Racing one) and we found it was faster with the front disconnected. This is particularly the case if you hit ripple strips or are not smooth with steering inputs.

It wasn't realistic to remove the front sway bar until the motor was out. Even then, I cut it in half and removed it in two pieces.

Few little tidy ups today, including polishing out some of the battle scars.

Today, fresh oil and I took the fight to poor previous maintenance.
We lost.

The 2 litre succumbed to a whole bunch of sludge and either a blocked oil pick up or a blocked open pressure relief valve and subsequent rooted big ends.

No Vinduro for me tomorrow - seems I have a race car motor to swap (back).

It's original motor for the car. The spare motor you gave me is a non-VVT one. It may get a VVT head swap depending on what we find inside the VVT 2-litre.

Also, 4th place today. Made the stress of the last few days disappear.

Copped a drive through penalty when Paulie missed the double yellow flags and overtook two lappers... Our team's first ever driving infringement in 18 months, so not too cut up about it. It did make the battle for 4th (3rd at the finish) into a non-event - the 206GTI that was a few seconds behind was handed nearly a lap lead over us.

There was also some minor contact with a much slower lapper who was being a disk, which removed our LHF indicator and replaced it with a lot of rubber on the front bumper... I'd have preferred to keep the indicator.

All our drivers set their PBs today. The car's fastest is now a 50.46, which was still only good enough for 12th place on the grid! And our fastest race time is a 50.502, which was bettered by SEVEN other cars - remembering the 50.40 break out time!

It's a mix of things. Main one is having four drivers who are all roughly similar speed - lots of teams have a bigger spread of times across the drivers, so they end up with one driver wrecking their result, or one setting a great quali time that the rest of the team cannot keep up.
Also avoiding penalties and having a car that can maintain the pace all day.

There are a limited number of viable choices if you want to run at the front;
1. Integra;
2. Pulsar;
3. S40;
4. 206 GTI (if you're brave);
5. Clio Sport (if you're really brave).

There was a 4AG AE92 that was fast, but they seem surprisingly slow generally. There may also be fast Alfa options if your bravery crosses over to insanity.

Who wants to run at the front? extra seconds in lap times means you are getting the most value for money, Your Ovlov is proof of that! :) You can't tell us you'd be having more fun if we put you in an Integra.

I'm not sure a 16 would have more body roll then a 12 :P.

And yes, 12's are mad! :D Oh I should start a thread and fap on about it, (I'll save you the pain)

I managed to get some fat wheels that takes 205mm rubber. Helped the handling incredibly! Have to sort that scrubbing on the outside rear however..

Now back to stories about real racecars! ;)
