With the few all round dents & scratches on the roof you have also mentioned I don't think this car warrants the above average price tag that the Dealership is asking either!!!

If the blokes here think it $10,000 over budget then you are better off buying for what would equate to $15.000 or $20,000 les from the auction.
"getting them to fix it " is fraught with bodgy repair jobs and a never ending run around to get it right and your time and money spent that isnt part of the repair deal.... TIME is precious.
Any such work needed on an auction vehicle is done at your repairer to your standards so you get a win win situation then. And the satisfaction too.
Please look at your contract as it tells you what the cooling off period is , they should have mentioned it as a legallity iirc. Another thing to look at. Even then , getting technical with the additions to the contract and repairs , it may be just too messy....
