Back in the game after a few years away from these things.
This one brings up the 6th Volvo ive owned, total spent on buying the cars is now up to $1700 :D

This is a '83 GL sedan, B23 with an M46 box.
Bog stock, 393,800ish kays.
$300 with 5 months of rego ($220ish)

Got a clutch issue and seems like it needs an alternator, but apart from that it seems good, a little bit of rust in the passengers side sill panel.

Plans are to use it for a budget track car, will end up lowered on some half decent suspension thats cheap and probably a welded diff for motorkahnas / drifts.
Down the track (if i even keep it), ill source a little (80hp) shot of nos into it and see how long it lasts. (ive got a spare motor)
I do happen to still have a GT35 laying around as well that may end up ghetto'd onto it
It's got one of those high pressure coolant bottle caps. Apparently swapping to the low pressure cap (black) makes everything last longer.
Green 240's are the best. Feel free to click the link in my sig for inspiration.

Hit up Ash at DVS for suspension bits mate
23 days later
Finally planning on starting work on this tomorrow, work has been stupid lately.
Clutch has turned up, should get the box out and flywheel machined tomorrow with any luck and hopefully tomorrow night it will be drivable
Had to kick the kingswood out of the garage so I could put this snot box in. Brother and I are going to pull it apart tomorrow morning, get the flywheel machines by a mate and hope to have it back together tomorrow afternoon.

Box is out, 1:20 till it was on the floor.
Can see why the clutch didn't work.
Fork is nearly worn through so im heading out to weld it up now.
Progress is being made!
Thanks mate!
Box is back in, everything works mint. Didn't get any pics yet cause the Mrs wanted to go to dark mofo but I'll get it out tomorrow for a drive!

Off the jack stands and running well.
Clutch slave is leaking, and it needs some bushes by the sounds of it but runs well!
Gave it a decent wash and it came up really well

Im starting to actually get attached to this one, im kinda thinking its a bit too nice to turn into a cheap track hack
Philia_Bear;77624 wroteDetails on new clutch?
Just a standard replacement one from the Sparco store in Hobart, $240 with the throw out bearing and spigot.
Just asked for the cheapest one he could get me haha has a nice pedal feel.
Tassie6er;77629 wroteIt is a good looking car!
Its a lot better than I actually expected it to be, my whole plans of making it a track car are slowly going out the window haha

So I'm cleaning up this car, up to the stage of giving it a polish.
I've ran the buffer with a cutting pad

With some autoglym polish over it already, and the paint is better but still has marks like this

Is it just a case of getting a heavier cutting compound to clear the paint up? Or is there something else I should do first?

Might need to step up to sandpaper for some of that stuff. Really it depends how much clear is on there now though.

Yeah I was thinking that might be the case. Probably just worth paying the $300 it will cost me to get it done haha
If it's $300 and the shop reckons they can get a good result out of it, I'd go with that. Getting paintwork right is hard, and getting it wrong is easy.
@Jaz can I use a photo of your 240 for the Oz Volvo Facebook page?
