Just putting the 27mm falcon bar up front will fix near all sway issues
K's 1991 240GLE

It's been a while so I thought I'd update my thread! Picked up a 23mm rear sway bar and installed it today. I thought the job was just 'undo four bolts and swap out the bar', which it really is, but I didn't realise that two of the bolts holding the swaybar in also held the shocks in. As a result when i took the bolt out on the left hand side, the whole axle dropped down giving me a shock.

Rectified by jacking it up and putting wood underneath the wheel.
Here is a size comparison of the standard 19mm sway my GLE had, and the 23mm which came off a '79 242GT if I'm correct.
And finally end result.
After a brief test drive, I have noticed a lot less roll; I'm yet to take it up to speed or really push it.

Update! Been dailying the car with a Sparco Sprint on Kaplhenke side mounts for a couple months now. Looks out of place but its massive improvement over the factory seat.

Got some new wheels - 12 slotters with Torana centres (5x108). 14x8 ET0. I had to use 10mm slip on spacers on the front because the centres of the wheels fouled on the calipers. Spent a couple hours machining the spacers down to a smaller size with a bench grinder so that they wouldnt hit the calipers either. Works great now.

I pulled the inner lip of the fender out as opposed to rolling them in. A lot more flare now but they look messy; will be doing a bit of bodywork over the next few weeks to rectify and clean them up. I have spacers which I want to run in the future hence the need for the flaring.

the old girl in action.

hopefully some bigger things will get underway in a couple months time!

How do you like the sparco sprint? Was thinking about putting a couple in my 240...
Very sturdy, fits me well from the torso down (too narrow for my shoulders). Decently comfortable if you sit with good posture, did the drive from Sydney to the blue mountains with multiple stops in between and found it perfectly comfortable.Raebird;119784 wroteHow do you like the sparco sprint? It's a lot smaller than the stock seat so a lot of space is opened up around it; I now have my fire extinguisher comfortably mounted on the floor between the seat and the door.
Wait, you machined spacers not with a mill?
I'm unsure about your obsession with 14" rims though.

I could have done that for you on the lathe in like 5 minutes ?

Yes. Took my paint code to local Supercrap and the assistant said that’s not a paint code. I said it is and to look it up. To his surprise ah it is. No apology. If I was not pressed for for time would have walked out then.

Surely they've converted that to power at the flywheel, not at the rear wheels? Because the B230F only made 112hp when new...!
What does it cost to get that done?

Negative, I did it with my uni as part of a dyno day, over 20 cars ran and all experienced the usual drivetrain loss. I too am a bit perplexed at the numbers; they seem too good.240;124800 wroteSurely they've converted that to power at the flywheel, not at the rear wheels? Costed me $60, discounted from the usual $110 i think.
Well that's not bad then!
Have you done the airbox mod?
I'm interested to know what my car makes now with its B230FX.

Oh yeah I did the airbox mod too a while back. It doesn't have a rear muffler either.240;124802 wroteWell that's not bad then!

Did they lock out 4th gear?
The car hit limiter at 185km/ph, is that top of 3rd or 4th?Vee_Que;124809 wroteDid they lock out 4th gear?
Hmm, that is suspiciously high based on some of our previous club dyno days...B230F unmodified was 47 (auto) - 50-52 (manual) RWKW...our 1988 5-speed manual did 50 RWKW with the supercharger switched off, and 76 with the supercharger switched on running about 5-6 PSI of boost.

i have a lot of stickers, that's probably why...carnut222;124850 wroteHmm, that is suspiciously high based on some of our previous club dyno days...B230F unmodified was 47 (auto) - 50-52 (manual) RWKW...our 1988 5-speed manual did 50 RWKW with the supercharger switched off, and 76 with the supercharger switched on running about 5-6 PSI of boost.
Mahmoud the tuner said he didn't make the dyno spin easier or anything to compensate, so yeah, I dont know why it pulled the numbers it did. I've not ever opened up the motor to see if any work has been done to it but as far as I know it is completely standard bar the airbox mod and lack of honeycomb in the cat.
