The wagons have great storage space, great for long runs if you want to carry, or hide things

Hey Kev,
Have you bought those steelies yet?
I'm keen to see how they look. I'm tempted to get a set myself.

cheers Rod

Which ones Rod? Ive got 7 mags that Im yet to get tyres for, haven't gotten any steelies yet

??? 7 mags LOL...
I read in this thread you were thinking about getting Holden PCD pattern steel smoothies.
I'm thinking about getting smoothies..Got to be 17" and no wider than 7.5 to 8" .

What kind of mags have you got..You got some Globes didn't you.
Yeah Spac sold them to me for 120 hehe. They're five spoke Penta lookalikes in 14'

I was, my plan when the suspension is sorted was to go through Diamond Racing and get some wide 15/16' steel wheels, where you can custom order your PCD, offsets etc.

Havent really looked too much at the old style Holden ones, if you find any please let me know, I still think the smoothie style looks sick.

Ford Mondeo steel wheels are in the 5x108 bolt pattern, and similar wheels are quite cheap:

I may be completely wrong but if this helps then I'm happy

@Ramrodfunk centre bore and offset of those steel wheels might be wrong though
Ramrodfunk;80794 wroteyeah....it's the offset that's the killer. You can buy hub rings to adapt the center bore or get the centre bore drilled out.
I'll send some links of some wheels I like tomorrow.
Here's my favorite but expensive and at 8.5 inches wide I'm worried that they wouldn't fit inside the guards.

Spacers and guard rolling Rod, you have to get those ones :)
I think they're sweet. They look like BBs wires but without the trouble of trying to keep the wires clean,I can't stand dirty wheels lol.
Spacers are illegal in NSW I think and I don't wan't the hassle..How much is to get the guards rolled?
And I still have to get the offset right. I might give them a ring.
Also ,like you ,I'd like to get my suspension sorted, lowered ,bushes ,sway bars. My car is fast enough but I would like it to handle as good as possible. I like going through corners rather than flat out speed.
oops gotta go pick up the little woman..chat soon

I have no idea about costs unfortunately. What engine modifications does your car have? Also is it an auto or manual?
No eng mods yet but it is a 531 head so it already flows better.
Also it's the FX block and it is better than other blocks, not sure why.
It's an auto with the aw71 box. It's a bit stronger than other boxes and will handle turbo upgrades ( up to a point ).
I also have a 1031 diff. So ,as far as 240's go it has all the best goodies ,except it's an auto. I want to fit a ported and polished 531 head I already have so that should boost it a bit also.
Then get an exhaust system.
You should check out the 531 head.I think it will bolt onto you block without any trouble and give you easy horse power.
Eventually I want to put a turbo on and do a T5 manual box conversion.
This weekend I'm taking out the first muffler and fitting a new rear muffler. Hopefully will make it a bit more "throaty" sounding.
I'm going to go and read this whole thread to see what mods you've done.
What are you hoping to end up with on your car.?
My plans are almost identical, T5 manual as the first step (I hate the aw70) after all maintenance issues have been ironed out. Haven't really planned much in terms of engine mods, I've barely driven the car as is.

I've deleted the rear muffler and I have a 7' cannon that my dad and I will weld on; the mid muffler is going to be replaced by a 2' pipe. Its gonna be loud :). Cat needs to be replaced as well but Ill let a shop do that later down the track.

This thread is mostly me (as a huge noob) learning about 240s and getting my car on the road, hopefully u enjoy.

New fuel pump relay in has sorted all the starting problems. Feels good. Finally ready to be dailied. Drove it to uni today and she didn't skip a beat.

If you look closely you can see that I chopped the god awful diffuser off (it was bent to shit). Purchased some Kalphenke seat mounts because the stock driver seat is rubbish for going around corners. Need to find a bucket seat.

Hopefully this weekend I will be completing the 'custom' exhaust system and going to town on the rear springs with the angle grinder. chop chop chop. Car is long overdue for a service as well.

See you at the National Meet then? :)

Unfortunately not James, uni + work + got some big things happening with the car
The reason a b230fx is better is the oil squirters for piston cooling. It Means better longevity of the Motor. They have a vx3 cam.Which makes more power too then the normal na b230 post 86. The 71 is the turbo box and all 93 on cars (940s that is) got them probably due to costs of multiple boxes for an old car. one behind an na box will survive longer at 200k kms vs a one behind a turbo if you swapped one into a turbo car, unless it's not been serviced at all.

Really excited guys. A T5Z arrived yesterday. Already has an M46 bellhousing (new from Berry's), a Deeworks adaptor plate and an already modified input shaft.

Extra bits and pieces. Clutch fork, clutch fork boot, clutch release bearing, slave cylinder, pedal box and pedals.

Big thank you to @shak for being wonderful to deal with.

Gonna be a big project that I'm hoping I can have done by the end of the year. Long live the manual!
I like you Kevin. You say you're going to do shit and then you do it. 10/10
Soooo jealous..good one Kevin.I'll be seeking your advice for when I do mine soon, I hope.
Out of interest what the box cost with all the gear
