I live in canberra and had organised for a friend to go look at this car long ago, as he left his place to go and look at it the seller messaged him to say he'd sold it - to you, it would seem! :P Congrats!

:p thank u

Update time yay

Replaced the odometer gear because *surprise* my odometer was not working. You can see the difference between the old gear and new one. It was a fun job until I had to put the dash back in, took half an hour in the dark just to squeeze my hand around the back to get the connections back in.

I don't know what I did but none of the dash lights stayed on anymore after i took the dash out and put it back in. Hopefully that doesn't give me anymore trouble.

In the process of trying to take off the tailpipe to repair rust holes, i ended up ripping the muffler off from the section between rear axle and rear muffler; it was rusted and very weak.

Tightened the RHS shock gland nut (i think thats what it's called). No more clunking from the suspension.

Removed the child seat for weight reduction + a boot inside boot for tools and other stuff small things i dont want sitting in plain sight. If anyone wants a child seat in decent condition I'll sell it to ya for cheap.

Ipd shipment.

Purchased CSA alloys from @Spac , thank you to @Philia_Bear for picking them up for me.

Picked up a roof rack and some black exterior trim from Matt Williams. Couldnt believe my luck that he had them. If you're on here matt, thank you very much.

Finally, I want to buy these for the driver AND passenger side (if they exist). If you or anyone you know is selling one, hit me up!

Remaining to do for blue slip:
Ball joints
Degrease
PCV clean
Fabricate exhaust
Reflector headlight repair/replacement
Wiper blades
RHS tailight
Both front parking lights
Driver's door lock spring
Front LHS tire
I've got a driver's side weather shield.
Matt is on here as @244v8volvo I think. Not very active though.
Ey @Klaptrap24 where did you get the odo gears from? Good shipping + quality?
Samman88;76378 wroteEy @Klaptrap24 where did you get the odo gears from? Good shipping + quality?
Got it as part of an ipdusa.com shipment. To be honest i haven't test driven the car yet (shitty weather + no rego) but i spun the gears when i had the speedo out and it started clocking up distance, so I'm pretty sure it works.
I got the speedo cogs off ebay. Just advice - if you still have a problem, open it back up. The missing cog teeth can remain in the speedo and get caught up in the new cogs. It happened to me.
Sweet advice guys, much appreciated!

It didn't work when I took it for a test drive yesterday, so i took it apart and basically reinstalled it; works fine now

Meyle Ball joints in! Wiper blades in!

The car has a pretty significant leak of red fluid from the LHS coming from inside the steering rack boot. Pretty sure this means I need to get the entire rack and pinion set up replaced. Any advice on going about this would help.

Tested fitted the CSA alloys, and it seems that the studs don't extend out enough to tighten the lug nuts on properly (I'm using the lug nuts from the original wheels). Do these wheels need a different type of lug nut? @Spac

Yes! Mag wheel nuts, with washers.

I think I've got some - I will have a look, although I meant to send them off with the wheels.

Any halfway decent tyre or general automotive parts place will have them in stock.
You need 1/2" UNF, if you didn't already know.

Sorry Spac, what is UNF? If you have the nuts and washers would it be possible to post them to me? I'll message you about it.
Unified screw thread, fine. Refers to the pitch and depth of the thread on the nut/bolt/stud.

Update:
Car has finally passed its Blue slip. I did most of the stuff myself which I'm pretty happy with.

Repaired rust in the driver's side door and the firewall
Installed brand new reflectors in the headlights (thank you Mark of Berry Motors)
Installed new RHS taillight (Thank you Mark again)
Sealed both tailights
Welded new tailpipe on exhaust (thanks dad) and sealed holes using copious amounts of muffler putty (its getting chopped soon anyway)
Installed driver and passenger side wind deflectors
New fuel rail (my one had a leak in the rail) and refurbished drivers side central locking harness purchased from Lupica motors and installed by my mechanic
LHS park light replaced
Fixed my odometer (three times lol)
Replaced flame trap and cleaned the shite out of the oil separator box

Now just gotta buy a green slip and get her registered.

looks so much better with new reflectors.

cut two coils off the front springs. front and rear heights are similar now. Car did not pass the shoe test, so when time allows, I will cut another coil off the fronts and one or two off the back, depending on how the car sits with a rear end full of band gear. Car already handles better due to less body roll. Eventual goal is to equip coilovers in the fronts and adjustable rear perch system.

Gave the rear muffler the chop. I like how it sounds for how gutless it is with the AW70. Officially saving for a manual swap.

Muddy day in Sydney
Removing the child seat is the best thing ever
