Nice car @volvodriverman , that's define tally the hp model by the looks, it will deliver more boost that a Volvo 740 turbo, your car must have had the factory geminis removed at some point, so did mine, so dracos were put on my car
irishbastard
As for the club plates, you do need a roadworthy or club inspection , but a club inspection would be a lot easier ;)
Vee_Que
He removedv them himself I think.

Oh Ok fair enough, In My opinion I like geminis on them better, the only reason is for the car to be original, otherwise apart from that the R rims look awesome, ill eventually buy some geminis back for my Volvo 740 HP, but only when I can afford them
volvodriverman
Yep, the gems are gonna get restored then back on with non lethal in the rain tyres...
It certainly is a hp but the turbo + crap is disabled & a mbc added to actually get it to go ;)
irishbastard
Cool @volvodriverman, if you end up reconnecting the turbo I'd ad the garet turbo, because my HP has the Mitsubishi turbo charger factory, but the garets are quicker, then add a high flow catlicconverter, I'm going to add one because my car keeps running badly, I can't work out if my car surges or suffocates, the problem with my car is that it sounds like a kitten purring, any ideas
volvodriverman
Turbo is connected, turbo + nonsense is not. Mbc is. 3" exhaust is coming, also a mits16t, screw the cat I live in Devonport!
Purring like a kitten eh...closest thing I can think of is a miss on one cylinder.
irishbastard
Sounds good !, as for the cat on my car I think I'll take it off as well ;) , it does add a bit more horse power so I was told, and thanks for the advice i forgot to mention while it has that purring moment it stumbles as well, and i can feel the vibration sitting in the drivers seat but its not bad, ill have to get the car checked over, engine wise, I'd like to get the problem sorted before I take it to the march 30 club day, at flemington, I know the event is fairly far away but will you be attending it? @volvodriverman

Darc,
There were some factory 740HP cars that didnt get Geminis. It is possible yours didnt have them from new.
Not sure about the aftermarket pegasus copies on a 740. They're a good looking wheel but I dont know if it suits the body shape. Definitely needs to be lower to pull it off.
Wheels are subjective though, it doesnt matter if they're not my bag.
Vee_Que
His one had geminis on it when Berry owned it. They came off when it was sold..
Darcy. They are an old style engine and not the smoothest thing in the world. Getting rid of the cat is not something you want to do. Going to a full 3" exhaust from an exhaust shop from the turbo back is what you want to do for more power. With a high flow cat.

Yep, I agree they just don't quite fit. Looked better on the 760 which was mucho low. To actually lower the 740 (as kings low springs achieved no low) who's used what springs & how do they find them?
Vee_Que
Good luck. I'm planning to do springs with DVS after my wedding for a 7. But the shocks might be limiting it.
irishbastard
How's your Volvo 740 HP going @volvodriverman, are you attending the flemington racecourse event with it ?
volvodriverman
Not likely, its a fair trek from Tassie;-). Its due for shocks and exhaust but otherwise very good.
irishbastard
Ok cool, keep me posted on how it goes please ;)
irishbastard
Are you going for a 3" exhaust system ?
volvodriverman
Sure am and will do!
irishbastard
Awesome, thanks :)
volvodriverman
Did you work out the stumbly kitten purring thing? Reason I ask is I'm getting the same thing now apparently...
irishbastard
sorry, unfortunately I couldn't track the problem down, I have a hunch that its a fuel or air problem because when I left that problem on my car it got worse, and now the manual stick shifter and the car shake like mad :) ,im guessing its a fuel problem because a lack of fuel could be causing it to strain, or its not getting enough air, if you leave the problem as I did it will start backfiring as well, it sounds like the car is blowing bubbles now, if you manage to find the problem please let me know, ill definitely let you know if I find the issue ;)
