Vee_Que So I've started to do a lot of thinking on this subject. Don't have the stock sizes on hand to write but I know there is only 600 of width in the current space between the radiator to the end of the oil cooler. This rules out the rs500 cooler add it's about 750 wide which means removing the stock air box. The xr6t aftermarket cooler can come with the pipes out evenly and is 350x400x75. Pretty much a perfect size I think as I don't like the idea of moving a lot to fit a 600x400 universal one. Stock core is about 20mm iirc so it is a big gain. Isuzu npr intercoolers are an option too I guess but not easy to come by for the model we need.
Ex850R I have a water to air intercooler in the shed I got off chinabay , alibaba , its good quality , welds are nice but silly 16mm endplates I need to cut off with the 9". Grimm them back to lose weight. It means on my v70 with battery in back I can have it in that spot and get straight ish shot to throttle body. One or two Kawasaki dirt bike alloy radiaters in the air dam for water cool with a bilge pump maybe. Nice short path so less lag I hope! Worth a look?
Vee_Que Not for me personally, water to air is good on a truck or one use track car, not worth the extra Hassle and large cost of buying all those parts when I want something that means I don't need to move my oil cooler or air box if I don't have to like a 600x300 does.
jamesinc Vee_Que;6393 wroteSomething easy to source too. Fair point, but I mean it's not hard to get it shipped over. At the end of the day you're paying a lot extra for an OEM fit though.
Vee_Que Yeah. Other alternatives are about 300 with only some brackets needed not new airbox etc which makes it worth it. What does the drop in one add up to? 450?
CamZH Are you still after size info ? I have a stock 700 Cooler at home, and nothing use it on... Had always planned on turboing my 740, but I sold it some 5 years ago...
Vee_Que I need to measure one of the three I own yeah :p this weekend. I want to make this site a resource for Australian volvo owners. This is part of it.

Ex850R These people can make any configuration you need i believe , recomended by Ash. I asked about a proper radiator for V70 and its $7-800 but full alloy not like the volvo crap with plastic ends which only last 160,000K by all acounts. http://www.pwr.com.au/products/intercoolers
Vee_Que Looking at buying a 450x300x76 one. Stock core size is 466x430x28mm so not that much smaller but the times thicker. May be worth it at $150
Vee_Que Been trying to find out if I'm looking at the right size, even though this one is smaller, it's extra thickness makes up for it I guess. Anthony Hyde still provides me with answers despite searching the internet. http://people.physics.anu.edu.au/~amh110/Intercooler/Hyde_intercooler.htm No it's not...
