Update.
When i got this thing the paint on the LH rear 1/4 panel and door was no good. To be more precise, the clearcoat had peeled off and the silver underneath had suffered, the damaged paint included the top half of the 1/4, the top half of the door and the a pillar right over the top and down the c pillar.
I am no painter, so i went and visited the local paint shop to see what they could do for me. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the cost of repair. approx $1k to repair and repaint the entire lhs of the car or $2k to clean up and repaint the whole thing. Despite what i consider to be a good price i figured i might have a go at it myself, I really had nothing to lose. So i rubbed it back, resprayed 3 coats of silver and 3 coats of clear, let it sit for 24ish hrs and have given it a rub back with 1500 so far. I am impressed with how it has turned out, although it is not perfect. I still have alot of sanding and buffing to do but i think it will be more than acceptable for the time being considering i painted it on a windy day in an open carport with a gravel floor..
I will get some after pictures when i finish buffing it up.

DURING:
After putting it back together I decided to get the RWC done so that i could get the rego transferred. It failed its first inspection on 2 counts.
1. LH outer CV boot, which was easily fixed by whacking in the shaft i have sitting here for the M56 conversion.
2. Seating Capacity ??????
As far as I was aware all C70's are 4 seat cars but this vehicle's compliance plate states that it seats 5?
I contacted QLD transport who tell me that it is a federal thing (VSS) and there is nothing they can do about it. Contacted Volvo Car Aust. who told me that it is a federal thing(VSS) and they can do something about it but not to expect anything in a hurry, so i started the process but am just not in a position to wait the estimated month or 6 weeks for it to get sorted... so $200 later it now has a modification plate fitted despite never having had a modification. At least that got it through a RW and the rego is now transferred.
So after all of this i took it for a drive to work. Happy with almost everything. Wheel alignment is shithouse but I am going to fit my newly acquired second hand no-name cheapo lowered springs over the next few days and then i might get the alignment sorted out. I intend running these until such time as i get something decent, at least i will be able to gauge ride height and decide how i want it to sit. Air conditioning is intermittent so I will have to get that sorted. Dash rattles and heater core needs to be done.
To top it all off i broke a headlight on the way. So i am chasing a RH headlight. Haven't yet convinced myself to buy fancy-pants ones. What i would really like is the later clear lens headlamps but I am finding it hard to justify the cost, would rather put that into something that makes it go better...
