Visited the local wrecker today and grabbed a few random bits.
Fitted new internal rear vision mirror, the S70 at the wrecker had a manual internal rear vision mirror so the auto dimming version is out for now.
Fitted new cup holder to replace the smashed one.
Grabbed a couple of misc clips, screws, lenses etc that were in better shape than mine. I also grabbed the electric antenna, modified it to fit only to find it was not working, so fitted a new manual one that i had, will do for now until i get a replacement electric one.
The wrecker's car was an '02 so I grabbed the grille with the updated badge, I swapped the wheel centre caps with the later ones that i had fitted to the 850R. I am going to paint the grille black, still trying to decide how much of it to paint but.
Also found a bloke who has a set of springs nearby, will check them out tomorrow.. Not sure what they are yet, hopefully they will be worth buying.
Decided to fit the manual box to this rather than sell it with the R, sorry prospective R owner.. May even start ripping it out tomorrow.

Rob , I have the working antenna off the 850 , is it the same? I can post it up if you want.
I tried the black grille paint on my silver S70 and ABM projector headlights but I found I preferred it silver , looking at the front from a distance as I walked back to the car it just looked odd.....
Some do the xc grille.. .PFV in UK have many versions of grille to check out the options. Maybe use plastidip so its durable but can be peeled off any time? That's gonna be how I do it when I turn my silver projectors into black ones , the grille will look better then I think , maybe eyebrows in body colour too , or black as well.
There was H&R springs on eBay , I thought you may have bid. $280 odd for sh springs!! Surely Ash has em for not much more?
Is it the antenna motor or just the plastic drive ? The drive can be replaced with new one cheap volvo part.

Took it for a 250km drive this morning and it ran beautifully, so I suspect all is well engine wise. Doesn't go as well as the 850R, so I will have to get some power happening. CV boots are split and leaking everywhere but the manual conversion (if @jamesinc doesn't kill me first) will sort that out.
Might have to take you up on the 850 antenna... Actually, just remembered I have one in my back yard, will have to check in the morning to see if it has one...
You have almost convinced me to buy a set of those headlights and indicators. Would have to be black ones i think. Although silver would probably look ok on a silver car. Not sure about the grille. I like the slash so it will be staying either way, just need to decide whether the frame and/or slash and badge will be silver, chrome or black. Not yet convinced on the XC grille, don't think i like it.
I do think I got it cheap but paint work is going to chew up a bit of cash. A fair chunk of the LH side will need to be painted, so may even get the whole car done.

Eibachs and b6 bilsteins on the cards? You should be able to get proper b6's using the euro catalogue. They don't export them to america and possibly aus for whatever reason.

My S70 was silver , with the chrome lights its pretty but black would have looked ace , a bit more serious and consider that the airdam on the C is less aggressive than the std car one it may work better for looks , Photoshop some pics to see? I too do not like the cc grille but I like the xc bumper/air dam look painted body colour! See on VS , Lookforjoe , his low xc with monster power looks good , there are pics of C with that bumper somewhere ..

I actually replied about the springs earlier today but perhaps didn't hit 'post comment'
H&R non-nivomat spring set is $695.00
We also offer Bilstein, Koni and Sachs shocks - warranty (in the unlikely event it is required) is all via us rather than you needing to return to manufacturer, etc.
Yell if you need bushes for it too. We do Superpro as well as rubber oem stuff.

Thanks. Do you do the caliper brackets for the bigger brake conversion? I wonder if they will fit under canisto's.
850R is not yet gone, have one person keen but awaiting sale of his vehicle. Unfortunately can't hold it for anyone so it is still up for grabs.

We offer the brackets for the 302mm conversion and we'll have our own 320mm conversion available soon.
302mm will fit under canistos fine, not sure (yet) about the 320mm.

The place doing our CNC machining unexpectedly closed, which threw a spanner in the works. It's been tough finding someone keen to to low volume runs.
Hopefully we are not too far away though.

Ok, so is an 850 manual gearstick boot different to a x70 and did they make a x70 gear knob with the wooden insert? or will i have to run a plain grey one?

The C70 manual knob certainly can be wood/alu/cf insert and I believe is still available new. Not sure if s/v70's got that option though I can't see why not.
Edit: Balls, that style of knob is for the next generation of C70's to yours. Would need custom leather boot and may look naff.

I think the knob is the same, save for inserts. Run the plain grey one anyway, woodgrain is my biggest complaint with them - to the point where if I get myself another 850, I'll need to buy myself a basic complete dash out of one without the horrible stuff!
I think the boot was a little different but you may be able to make the 850 one work.
