Dan_C70 changed the title to [Wanted] Grom/Yatour Bluetooth adapter for C70 SC-901 .

GeorgeVolvo Ahh ok thankyou. Didnt know you could still get them new, how do you find the audio quality of the Yator? Currently running my c70 off an fm transmitter and it just doesnt do the sound system justice

    FM receiver is garbage!! 😆

I’ve purchased around 10 units over the years for my various P80 platform cars with the SC head units, plus one for a P2 chassis car with the HU unit (also with the Dolby pro-logic sound).

Sound quality is excellent - it’s plugged through the CD stacker port so as good as a CD. Crisp & clear & sounds great with the factory amp & dynaudio speakers.

I’ve also added the microphone for telephone Bluetooth so it’s perfect in my opinion.

I don’t understand why people replace the original head unit for one which looks way too modern & not original, & usually lose sound quality too.

Each to their own I suppose, but it’s a thumbs up from me.

Dan_C70 how do you find the audio quality of the Yator?

I have a Yatour hooked up to my 965's SC-816 because I wanted to hook up an iPod 5th Gen Nano to it (yeah, I am a Luddite...) and wanted to retire the ancient cassette-adapter-to-3.5mm stereo plug device.

The audio quality from the iPod is fine.

    I haven't used Bluetooth.

The iPod playlist selection is done from the SC-816's CD stacker's 1-6 disc select buttons, and it's rather cumbersome. Sometimes, the SC-816 or the Yatour isn't sure which playlist it's selecting, so it's a bit miss and miss in that department. Likewise, track selection is also a bit hit and miss.

Still, it's a small cross to bear if it means having real pots that slide up and down to do a single function and one knob that does only two functions, and all can be adjusted by feel, rather than the modern-day Donkey Kong look-at-the-screen bullshit where one knob tries to accommodate about 27 different functions and you have to take your eyes off the road to see WTAF is going on with the goddamned stereo.

Major Ledfoot Ahh, good to know. Does anyone have any experience with the grom unit vs the Yatour one?
