If your car had Nivomat rear end, you may not have had a stock rear swaybar to begin with.

How specific were you and who did you speak with?
I'd expect it to be cheaper if you were able to provide a drawing and specifications (including dimensions) of what you want.
I deal with them semi regularly, but they are busy and I'm sure telling them exactly what you need makes them look favourably on your business.

Of course, they'll still be in the more expensive range but its very much a case of you get what you pay for.
But, Alex has a point too, the volvo enthusiast demographic can be a little price-sensitive too, so may be happier to opt for something else at a different price/quality point which may yield a 'close enough is good enough' result.

Keeping in mind most any people use 600x400 ics on their cars, and bar and plate differs only in the end tanks, then near enough to good enough is great for 99% of people in existence.

It'd be fine.
Most Nivomat cars dont run a rear swaybar, but really its no big deal.
I still scratch my head as to why the Nivomat setup found its way onto the R models though. Volvo being Volvo I guess.

To make matters worse, on a FWD, you'd ideally just use the rear bar.

NOLA thane front bushes on bar no good then? (Ok for the awd?)

The front bar on the P80 cars was originally intended as 'non servicable' for the D bushes.
That said, urethane D bushes are considerably cheaper than a new bar assembly.

If the D bushes are worn out, I'd replace them with urethane. If not, don't touch it.

Unless you have a locker or a working LSD, the car will handle worse with the bigger front bar.

I got the blue urethane ones I think , could be from PFS. Doing steering rack on awd so thought put them on ...

If they're a decent brand, they'll be fine. We sometimes use a small self-tapper through the D bracket and into the bush to stop them walking on the bar.

Update!!

Still filthy

Soldered up the MAP sensor, now just need to set up how the ECU sees the extra input

Was offered the opportunity to order a Snabb "Drop in" Upgraded intercooler for a very fair price.

Package arrived heavily damaged, insufficient packing and lazy postal staff resulted in a bent mounting plate that I will need to mount in a vice and bend back.

The intercooler itself looks half decent, end tanks are made up from plate and are not a 1 piece billet design.

These are bar and plate and weigh an absolute TON!

Found out exactly how many Kms my car has done, not half bad for a guess 12 months ago when I rebuilt the ODO gears!

Found another air leak at the brake booster 1-way valve and grommet, when moved I could hear the prick hissing

1 way valve waste 1-waying anymore... Poor booster :'(
Will need to replace the hose at a later date

Ordered some stainless steel shifter bushings from Snabb and some delrin shifter bushings - To my surprise were not quite what I thought they were... I thought these were for the internal shift rod assembly, but found they replaced the actual shifter MOUNTING bushes... I am very excited to see how these will feel :)

After fitting up my wideband, I have come to see that the car runs quite lean at idle and mid to low load ( Hunts between 15.4 - 16)

I had originally thought this to be an issue with injectors, MAF or anything else like that.

To further complicate things - I am getting the shittiest economy, im averaging 16 - 17 l/100 with mostly urban stop start driving

This leads me to think:

I have an air leak somewhere thats sucking in enough air to throw my AFRs off, but not enough to run badly.
The ECU sees this and increases injector output to compensate, but hits a limit resulting in my atrocious fuel consumption and lean AFRs

Under boost AFRs seem healthier

Faulty maf and o2 sensor certainly made mine use more fuel but yours really must be more than that to get so bad a consumption surely?

Update!

Diagnosed continued coolant leak as old/oil fouled heater core seals
These were pretty tight 12 months ago, but now they are all swollen and stuffed because of my shitty leaking radiator (Oil cooler into coolant)
Farking great -_-

Pulled the lot out, replaced the seals and fitted it back up.
I got sick and tired of wet and squishy floor insulation so I ripped all of the soiled foam out.
I will replace it with some off the shelf padding in the future, I needed confirmation that the leak HAD been fixed.

So much room for activities!

I have also managed to suppress the CEL caused by running a newer ECU, the M4.4 607 AUTO Bin has a section dedicated to disabling startup checks, I disabled the rear O2 sensor, Acceleration sensor, Baro and Ambient temp sensors (All of which the 850 never had) and have been driving without a CEL for a week with no issues!

Had some spare time so I fitted up my Quaife with the help of @VPT02, This was an exchange box from Volvo so had a heap less kms on it than the donor car did.

Before pulling the box out of the 850 T5 donor car, i spent an hour flogging it around. It presented absolutely NO bad noises, vibrations or signs of wear, and this was before I knew it was an exchange box!!

The insides were immaculate, no signs of damage, all teeth present and not a single bit of metal on the magnet.

I used brand new SKF output shaft bearings on the diff, it is near impossible to pull the old bearings off the old open diff.

We decided to retain the old tone ring that was on the old diff, my car being a 96 does not use a speedo signal from the gearbox, but felt it was a good idea to retain it incase it was also used as a spacer where the donor 94 car would have used this for a speed signal.

We torqued the diff onto the ring gear at 40N.m initially then 100N.m to finish up.

Small update
Finished soldering the MAP sensor up, I wired it into the fuel pressure tank pins and batt negative

Also sacrificed a poor USB cable for its male end so I can interface with the Ostrich 2.0 from outside the ECU

Next Ill be sussing out the pins for a COP install and wideband integration

Top work mate I'd agree with wideband but not the cop route just more complicated and no real gains easier direct route way it is but that's just my opinion less to go wrong :)

Definitely room for more to go wrong, but frees up so much more space

Got the 3.25 ID BMW MAF housing today, christ this things huge!
