Hi all,
Just seeing if anyone has retro fitted any side skirts to there 240s. I have a '78 round light and wanted some inspiration / help in side skirt options. There is no much out there off the shelf.
Thanks!

Since its made from straight flat shapes it might be possible to fabricate from off the shelf stock materials in metals or other.
Watched the video, I think a 240 GpA rear spoiler / wing looks much better than that creation. But I respect the amount of metal working effort put in.
Fibreglass / carbon fibre is the go these days.
Your question was about side skirts though. Not the usual area for tweaks in a Volvo. However, whats fabricated needs to clear the jacking points.
Would you be making up something yourself with available tools?
Great inspiration John. Would love to delve further into what that person has done, I'll do some more research now I have a direction. Looks like exactly what I was after.
That's correct, I will most likely have to fabricate something myself, I'm better with metal than fibreglass so that would be my bet. I suppose I was testing the water to see if any other model of any other car has a "bolt-on" or minimum modification option. But it was a long shot.
Thanks again.
I have a really vague recollection that someone fitted a BMW 3-series side-skirt, I think E36.
This is really hazy though.
And I also wouldn’t put money on it actually looking any good.
Okay I’ve had a think, there is a yellow 244 T owned by Boyd Symington which has side skirts that look good and have been on his turbo 244 for years so stood the test if time. This is a trick car in a a number of areas (the Gerry McCarthy, in Revesby era)
Type in Boyd’s name with Volvo on the end and the first thing to come up is his Unique Cars pic.
He is President of the NSW Volvo club and is very approachable.
These are the side skirts that I am running and yes, they are fibreglass.
Maybe some curvature along the bottom would look good.
The yellow sills look too wide and don't blend well with the wheel openings.
If made of PVC it could be easily repaired.
