And over the weekend I disassembled the rest. There are air conditioning lines & wiring that are threaded through the front headlight shroud.
Been sitting like this for a few months while my panel beating friend Haz, sorts out various daughter's weddings, holidays and family smash repairs. Big Red still runs and drives.

Removed the bottom bolt on the centre support and disconnected the wiring from the horns. Rubber sheaths are still pliable and kept the connectors dry.

Undid one side of the muffler and undid the connector from the receiver/drier and took off theevaporator. It's in pretty poor shape and will be replaced by a more efficient brand new Skandix or Nissens unit.

Removed the receiver drier, pressure switch & old original Volvo service port. The receiver drier is an aftermarket Jayair dated 11/12/2006 and the compressor is a 158H type for 134a. So looks like a conversion was done in 2006. Lots of butyl on the old unit.

Pulled the hoses and cable through. Body grommets were all still very soft and pliable. Volvo rubber is made to last!

Couple more 10mm bolts and the light shroud is off!

Removed the RHS healight and blinker. No pics. The Molinex connecter was clamped tight, so I had to undo the wiring locking crimp & pull out the blinker cables from the rear one by one. Drilled out a couple of rivets and a few more 10mm bolts and off comes the bottom support.

And remove the two x bumper shocks before I cause some major shin lacerations and end up in Napean Hospital Emergency dept.

Both came out surprisingly easily. I was expecting these to be wedged in badly but they both popped straight out. LHS needed a little bit of a love tap with a rubber mallet but they were easier to deal with that the bloody blinker Molinex connection.

And a pile of red parts.

Last was this beathen up front air dam held on with a couple of cable ties……. 2 good holes out of 8. I'll order a new one on the next Skandix order.

So here's the state of the nation this morning.
