Clutch master cylinder replacement 1984 240 Estate

I'm back again, I'm doing quite few nagging jobs on the estate whilst it's off the road, I've got the recon starter motor courtesy of Ramrod but have pressed on with clutch hydraulics as I've been getting the tell-tale signs of crunching going into 1st and reverse randomly. Got the slave in I bought from VLVautoparts but after bleeding wasn't happy with pedal travel and long-story short have pulled the master, I've had a cursory look around online for a replacement (pretty sure this is original that I put a kit through 14 years ago) and not coming across very much. Anyone got any pointers for suppliers?

It's also worth checking the pedal assembly for wear. Often the bushes wear out and then the steel starts to elongate.

Seems to be largely slogged out on the pushrod yoke, the pedal-box end of things seems pretty reasonable to me…

Sorry for multiple posts but didn't get much sleep last night stewing over this, this link shows Brembo https://spareto.com/products/brembo-master-cylinder-clutch/c-86-001 and this one from a post by James late last year shows ACDelco https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=171214&cc=1287592&pt=1996 but I can't get the info to load on the Rockauto site (pretty clunky interface for users IMHO)… From what I understand they are both probably Chinese-made, not a great recommendation from my past experience.

Just had a look at a site in the Netherlands I've bought from before, no cigar on the master cylinder front but as a point of interest they have a lot of NOS and hard to get bibs and bobs https://www.volvo340onderdelen.nl/en/ ignore the 340 focus, they stock all models…

I think the reason you are not finding anything on RockAuto is because they've stopped selling that part, I think it was on closeout last year so presumably they have long since sold their remaining stock.

Unlike clutch slave cylinders, with clutch master cylinders I've never had any trouble with aftermarket units. Here are all the part numbers if you need them:

If your clevis pin is worn down, the clevis pin part number is 964843.

Finally, the part number for the clutch master repair kit is 273696, that kit includes new seals and rubber boot, you'd just need to hone your existing master cylinder.
