I have to dig a bit to get to it. The head is the same as the B20B photos above, but with lower compression. It does have small valves and a 6-bolt crank, being a 72. I haven't seen it run, but I've been told it was running before it was parked. I did turn it over with a screwdriver when I pulled it about 2019. From memory it had about 130,000 country miles on the clock.

Roinik as long as it's a 10 bolt and pushrod type. When you get around to pics that'll be fine. My pics are a B18 Volvo Penta it ran fine with it.

Huh? You're obviously new to the marque. There's a 6-bolt crank (6x bolts in the flywheel) that is all Imperial and wider journal's, or there's the later 74+ crossover metric + Imperial 8-bolt crank. The latter can take the B21 pistons. The 6-bolt is more common, but reputedly suffered from the very remote chance of cracking a gudgeon pin. I suspect that failure was due to uncontrolled detonation.

Either one will do what you want. Either one has the potential, with a lot of head porting, to make decent power numbers.

Roinik That's sounds good because mine I believe is a early 70s Volvo Penta motor, as major ledfoot's pics shows that early 70s 144 can be modified to marine purpose, by blocking a couple of holes and putting one in . As mine has 42mm & 35mm valves.

Rob where are you located Rob, is that B20 head for sale

Roinik Hi Roinik, wondering if you managed to find that motor at all yet.

There is a guy here in Perth that wrecks Volvo Penta engines if that may help. Found on Perth marketplace.

Ex850R Hi what type of head do you have available. I'm looking for a B20 push rod head.

DinoBru it's in the back of my workshop. I've been very busy over the last fortnight, with half of that time spent away.

Roinik if you were to sell how much would you be asking for it.

I probably have one, but I would want $250 for the bare casting plus postage. Not very common now. I probably still have a couple of each version in sound rebuild able condition but I would have to check what is easiest to access. Which version did you need? These are all from car engines.

That's if you haven't already found someone.

1971_144GL where are you at, I may have found one. Theyre checking out whether it's a B18 or B20

There is a B20 engine for sale on Perth marketplace right now $300

Philthy yes I've seen that ad. Thank you but expensive to send to SA. And will not separate
