No more pushing down the wiper assembly before opening the bonnet…..excellent!

Thanks for the update. I have 17 files with the word "wiper" in my V40 folder.

I remember you asking on the S/V40 thread if the LHS & RHS would be the same. Now we know. I'm glad you experimented with this and it worked out well. Bit of pfaffing around but you should get another 20 years or more out of them.

Looks like a hardware upgrade with those end bushings. (phase 2?). The "grease recess" in the middle on your old set (Phase 1?) also had a plastic bush that degrades and I suppose disappears over time.

How are they performing in the rain now?

@Johnno_ drove to Yass and back in the rain today and they work great, but the arms still foul on the bonnet. On that note...

Today @Maximus and I went to visit @Spac to raid a parts car. I now have a complete boot (previously was bare metal) and I've also got the heat shield that sits between the turbo and the firewall, as well as a set of really nice looking wiper arms that are much less bent than mine. Success!

On the way home I was thrashing it a bit on some back roads and maybe wailed on the suspension a bit too hard as a clunk started developing. Handling seems fine though. I'll have a look soon, but there are some stalled projects I need to get moving first (like Paul's B20+1).

The strut tops are already failing, I think with the firm ride I am maybe asking too much of stock strut tops, so the next set might be something heavy duty. I wouldn't mind having a bit more control over the alignment anyway.

jamesinc It's always a good day to do the pilgrimage to @Spac 's . The drive down to Yass is beaut.

The boot looks great, that small cargo net and the the securing belt come in very handy. Great for getting potted plants home without them tipping over. I don't have those plastic cubby boxes, not sure if they came standard or were an aftermarket item from Volvo.

The only downside is that the full-size BBS spare wheel doesn't actually fit under the boot floor (the photos were taken before I put the spare in).

I think I will try and find the correct space-saver. I'll hold onto the alloy so it stays with the car but it's pretty beat up and curb-rashed so I don't feel too bad about it.

I have a wheel, but it has a stupidly oversized tyre on it.
Original is 175/65R15 so easily acquired.
